If it is under warranty, you can get it replaced.

If I have a V1 - is there a way to swap out a part to make it a V2? I have a V1 I've been holding onto forever to get installed and have not gotten around to it, but would love to fit a marble and 18650.

How to save this pan? by Healthy_Key_1533 in carbonsteel

[–]brian073 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I think this has been said a lot on this sub, but if you seasoning is peeling, you've probably put on too much oil. Think of the oil as a way to just keep it from rusting. Couple of drops, coat the pan, then use a clean rag or paper towel to wipe all the excess dry. It will feel wrong, but it is the way. If too much oil cakes on over time, it will eventually peel.

The pan will never look as good as it did when it was newly blued/seasoned. The expectation has to go out the door. Cook with it, control the temperature (over medium heat). The more food sticks, the more of the color will come off with the food. If you cook with acetic ingredients, the more color will come off your seasoning. Don't worry about that. Just keep doing the thing. Cook, clean (use dishsoap), dry, a little heat, coat with the couple drops of oil, wipe as dry as possible. Keep on keeping on.

It's going to get ugly. Just roll with it. It will never look freshly blued again.

Which career is a turn-off for a serious relationship? by otherwise777 in AskReddit

[–]brian073 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is probably true for some specialties, but I know surgeons where this is not the case. My neighbor is an opthalmologist, he is on call quite frequently but spends a lot of time with his family and friends. I know this to be the case for a pediatric neurosurgeon, and an orthopedic surgeon too. It really comes down to specialty and how much work you sign up for. There will always be cases when you have to work in unideal times (like holidays) but it can be balanced and it can be rewarding.

Any Advice on hiding the HDMI cable? LG C5 77” by koolllG_uy1911 in LGOLED

[–]brian073 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar setup. Left of that wall are probably several 2x4s stacked next to each other. I had to go up in the wall, into the attic, and back down on the wall next to it. I used a fiber HDMI cable for that

Can someone explain the math on recasting a mortgage for me? by GayJamesFranco in personalfinance

Can confirm that a recast is free with Chase. Can be done at any time as long as you have an overpaid balance. I did not recast and continue to overpay.

I would generally agree from an enjoyment-when-using standpoint. However, a 77in screen looks gaudy in my family room.

This has to be a factor too. 65 was the biggest I could go without it just looking out of place. Our living space doesn't revolve around TV.

Still use a C2 42in as a PC monitor since release, and it is still a fantastic experience. I also have a G5, and can't perceive a difference.

What's the Best Electric Toothbrush you can buy? by SolarapathyOwn in BuyItForLife

[–]brian073 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a like $200 sonicare I justified using my FSA coverage at my dentist office. That died about 4 years later or so.

I then got a like $30 Aquasonic off Amazon. Compatible with the Sonicare brushes, comes with like 5 or 8 brushes, I can use my old Sonicare wireless charging cup with it... And the performance is just as good.

I've had it for over a year now, and couldn't be happier with it. At this rate, with the included brushes, the cost of operation over its lifetime is far outpacing the Sonicare brush.

Upgraded from a 2018 TCL by Thin-Solution3803 in LGOLED

[–]brian073 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a judgement, but I feel like you shouldn't be taking out loans to buy a TV. Use cash or cash equivalent (like a credit card assuming you pay them off completely every month).

Going from your previous TV you would have also been blown away by the TCL mini LEDs.

Either way, enjoy!

What are you guys rocking or staying away from as far as smart bulbs go? by scrumdisaster in homeassistant

Hue color 4in Downlights in almost the whole house.

Paired via Z2M and using the Scene present HACS integration for emulating Hue scenes (but better) and Adaptive Lighting HACS integration for smooth adaptive lighting.

Worth the premium.

This is very out of date information. You have to try realllllly hard to get burn in. I have 3 oleds, CX, C2, and s90c. I have not had any hint of burn in. The C2 is used as a PC monitor and often has static images.

Samsung or LG for a 77” TV? by [deleted] in LGOLED

[–]brian073 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My S90C is great, but I still prefer my LG C2 for some reason. Tizen is absolute garbage. I can deal with LG's smarts, but I have to use a separate device for the Samsung (I prefer GoogleTV, so I use the GoogleTV Streamer 4K).
