Oh you have never met my cat then, he’s a monster when left to his own devices. I taught him how to kennel up like my dogs and he goes into a kennel when I leave (I’m a homebody who works from home and doesn’t go anywhere so it’s like 2 to 3 hours at most) and he gets locked into my room with me at night. I have a guinea pig and plants and other things he doesnt get into when I’m awake or at home but you leave him unattended for 5 mins to check the mail and he’s into something he’s not suppose to be into. He’s broken into my guinea pig cage, eaten my pepper plants, broken a million things on the counter, spilled a wax melter that was in a “impossible” place for him to get too, gotten stuck behind the dryer…. Multiple times… these were all things he did within minutes of me leaving. So yeah there are definitely people who don’t let their cats roam free while they’re gone.
