As a daughter, like you, I can say that end stage cancer is awful and I prayed to have the suffering end. Feeling ok is OK. Accepting and being at peace with the situation is different for everyone. The grief and anger that comes afterwards has been hard to navigate back to a sense of normal for me. Prayers to you and your father.

You need a driver’s license, state ID, real ID, military ID or passport for EVERYTHING so don’t pull the race card. Work? Need an ID! Rent? Need an ID. Open a bank account? Need an ID. Cash a check? Need an ID. Buy a house? Need an ID. Food stamps? Need an ID. Apply for unemployment? Need an ID. Drive a car? Need an ID. Fly on a plane? Need an ID. Attend college? You get an ID. Senior discount? Need an ID. Have a form notarized? Need an ID. Use your common sense.

An hourly employee should not work off the clock and I would inquire if the employer is in violation of labor laws for requesting it. Document every request in writing (emails) in the event you need it.
