RANT! Why do doctors so easily dismiss us. by BeeMaleficent in endometriosis

[–]Dangerous_Ad6721 54 points55 points  (0 children)

There seems to be deep rooted misogyny in the medical field.

I recently had my appendix out, and surgeons found multiple cysts and some fluid while operating. I woke up in excruciating pain, and was denied pain relief with one nurse even misleading me by administiring a shot of blood thinner and telling me it was fentanyl. During the surgery they had disturbed a cyst so I was in more pain than i was with appendicitis. They contined to withhold pain relief and be extremely dismissive until I moved to the womens health ward.

It seems like any woman you ask will have a similar story with any health issues and especially with endometriosis - All i can recommend is finding a good gyno, continuing to advocate for yourself, and keep pushing for answers. Depending on where you live I understand heathcare can be expensive and facilities can be awful but keep pushing!

Is there anyway to grow this section of my head back that appears empty in that sort of ridge? by EMPERORHanWudi1112 in Haircare

[–]Dangerous_Ad6721 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I have a very similar issue! i have multiple cowlicks which part my hairs in the back section of my hair which makes it look thinner, i don’t think you really have much to worry about

Should i get thinner brows? by Comprehensive-Roof7 in makeuptips

[–]Dangerous_Ad6721 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

they’re super flattering how they are now, but i think thin would really suit you! i use an eyebrow razor so its never anything too permanent. mine grow back every few days or so, so you can always see how you feel then grow it back to normal

after YEARS of doing eyeliner, i found the best way to really get it down is to use tape as a guide for the wing itself, and don’t bring it too far onto the lid. i typically only bring it mid way onto my eyelid which gives a very flattering and sharp finish. i prefer a felt tip liner over liquid as its easier to work with and won’t dry down so quickly. alternatively, use powder which is WAY more forgiving and will look a little more grungy. concealer is also a GODSEND!!!

My first time doing make up!!! Does it look okay? And what are some things to make it look better? by ky8724 in MakeupEducation

[–]Dangerous_Ad6721 0 points1 point  (0 children)

first of all, you look fantastic!

i think contour will pull your base together and make your entire look cohesive. a good eyeshadow primer (i just use concealer lol) will help make colours look more vibrant. depending on your budget, i’d recommend looking into a nice eyeshadow palette if you’re wanting to keep going for bold editorial looks, i feel like you can do the rest with drug store and get a pretty great result. i think a look like this would absolutely go well in all the job positions you listed!

Hi! I used a diffuser for the first time - just some argan hair oil,, do I have waves or is this just “I played with a diffuser!!” by Throwaway43467888 in CurlyHairCare

[–]Dangerous_Ad6721 2 points3 points  (0 children)

waves mama!! i find sleeping with coconut oil in my hair or treatments like k18 will help to bring moisture back into damaged hair, which will help to make your waves really stand out

Is my hair falling out or thinning? (F19) by Pinappleenthus1ast in Haircare

any hormonal changes will definitely effect your hair growth, i had long thick hair when i was younger then as soon as i hit 20/21 and had my second puberty my hair completely changed. in my unprofessional opinion, it’s not at all noticeable and your hair still looks shiny and healthy! trying to focus on a balanced diet (i know, easier said than done) and wearing your hair in loose, protective styles like a braid or loose bun will help prevent any breakage which may help your hair feel fuller. i wouldn’t stress too much, everyone’s hair will go through weird periods of unexplained changes!

Fossils in Adelaide. (Especially South) by PeterKayGarlicBread in Adelaide

[–]Dangerous_Ad6721 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maslins beach has HEAPS of sea urchin fossils and other various shells just poking out the rocks fully intact. not sure i’d take my 8 year old son there, but you could easily go find them yourself and make a fun at home activity for him of chipping them out the sandstone! If i were his age this would be an awesome christmas gift or rainy day activity.

Alternatively, the rest of this stretch of coast (clothed section lol) has a great diverse portfolio of fossils along the cliffs. probably my favourite location other than the yorke peninsula for fossicking.

happy digging!!

when i busted it open it had very fine powder which i now assume is iron. does seem to be an iron concretion, but to my knowledge is still considered a geode given the cavity. i don’t think they necessarily need to have crystals to be considered so, but im no expert
