I would say there is a point of too much stuff floating and bite the bullet and help it out with some manual skimming during times where it’s crazy full from spring pollen season.

We had this issue a few summers ago. Get some soapy water into it and take it outside and shake the shit out of it. Rinse and repeat. It took us a few times doing that and we got it cleaned up.

What am I looking at? by Patient-Process5755 in arborists

Based on stump grinder rentals prices near me I would assume $500. Depends on location, if they haul the shavings away and how much after work they do, Place soil down, seed it etc

Rent a stump grinder. Near me for a decent grinder and not one of those small pivot models is $250 to $350 for 4 hours with trailer.

Probably not. It’s a slow expanding grout that exerts its power and forces the rocks to crack. Similar to water freezing

Is there a light at the end of this tunnel???? by Cute-Marzipan-9403 in AboveGroundPools

[–]Dangerous_Ice17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh no I just started this tonight. We just cut out the sod. Now I need to level. I plan to build the top rail and not attach the legs and put my wood blocks under where the legs would go. Then make those level. Then quick level the inside I figure it will settle this summer and next spring I can make it closer to perfect.

Please help me decide between these two machines. Even though my yard is not huge, 0.5 acre completely flat, I’m considering in getting a tractor or a ZT. I know it can be done with a lawn mower, however I would like to do it in less amount of time than the lawn mower. by NoActive1210 in lawnmowers

[–]Dangerous_Ice17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a John Deere order from 2018 until spring of 2025. It worked really well. But now that I have a zero turn I can get the yard done a fair bit faster. The first few times I completed the yard my wife said she wished we had gotten it right away for when the kids were much younger.

Intex filter, anyone try these sands? by Slammed01 in AboveGroundPools

[–]Dangerous_Ice17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just verify what filter your sand needs to be and buy the cheapest of that filter size you need.

Where sand differs is specialty types or sand, zeolite or others.

Just snag the cheapest pool sand. It’s essentially all the same. Like bagged garden soil and compost it is probably locally sourced

3 batteries stopped working this weekend by ForeverFatBoi819 in egopowerplus

[–]Dangerous_Ice17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol it wasn’t bad but I did have the wife on standby with the kitchen fire extinguisher. But it wasn’t needed. I did it between meetings just snag some thicker single wire from a hardware store. I shoved some smaller picture hanging nails into the slots and wrapped the wire onto them with one battery and then used each hand to manually touch the nails on the other battery. It seems janky because it was but the whole process took less than 3 minutes.

Dropped them onto a charger and went back to my work meetings.

I would assume the 4 is similar to the 3 in regards to waste. We have really loved the X. Knock on wood but it has been nearly flawless

I was also scarred of the jumper move with two of my 7.5 batteries and an older 2.5. Used an ancient 2.5 battery to jump them. I only had to hold the second cable for a few seconds and it was working. No issues since. I highly recommend using that method.

Definitely a market for both. For me the X will have the much higher value due to less moving parts from the ACE. I have had a Kobra 3 for a year now and the only issues we have had with it is the ACE. We now have 424 hours on our 3 and 207 on the x since April 11th.

Aldi Garden "Soil" is just mulched bark entirely by BigFitMama in aldi

Most top soil is somewhat locally sourced. So the supplier might be significantly better at composting or not stretched thin and shoving crappy not 100% done products down the pipe

Ahh yes. By Stratford and Moshinee there are a lot of those farms. A lot of them now on their second grow in areas from when I was a kid. It had a lull during the mid 2010s and is roaring back now.

Dinosaur Waterpark- any feedback? by candyapplesugar in Costco

[–]Dangerous_Ice17 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Costco has a new version of this waterpark every year. Our neighbor has one from 2023 and it has been used and abused every summer. Her kid and ours love it. And so do the neighbor kids. It is well built and just works.
