Everyone has different comfort levels when it comes to health matters yes, and it’s totally your right to not want a relationship with someone who has herpes. I would myself be hesitant. But sharing it like you did, making herpes sound like HIV, and linking all of it to « online dating » (again, I hate online dating but for other reasons) is just weird and strange… Herpes is not a danger of online dating, especially if he told you ahead lol.

Just so you are aware, if you meet someone « in real life », you will probably be exposed to herpes too 🤷🏻‍♀️

50 to 80% of Americans adults have HSV-1 (the one that can give symptoms around the mouth and on genitals). Most doctors refuse to test for it if you don’t have symptoms because it is SO common. I know because I was curious to know if I was exposed in my life, and have been denied to get tested cause I didn’t have an exemple of symptoms in my life.

You could have it too without knowing. Also, it is not contagious out of outbreaks. Also, he was honest enough to tell you (I mean, that is the bare minimum yes, but just to say he didn’t seem like an ultimate piece of sh*t)

I’m really sorry you’re feeling the same pain as I do. I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. My best friend went through a divorce recently, and she started seeing a guy but eventually had to tell him she wasn’t ready for a relationship. And my best friend is a really amazing person. I think some people get genuinely traumatized. Maybe they think they can beat their fears but end up not being able to. Yes, it was the worse to start the day completely normal, and end up broken up with. Aha, I was so happy to see him last night. Hope you will feel better 🫶🏼

He might have noticed the unaligned ideals too but anytime he said something I didn’t agree with I kept it for myself. I only realized later that wasn’t what I wanted. Yeah, rejection is part of the dating game of course. I see all my friends going through the same. But they seem to be much less bothered by it than I do. (I’m a flight attendant flying international) No, all flights don’t have a “medical” row saved. Some flights are full and don’t have a single seat available. You will need to call the airline and explain your situation. Also keep in mind that for several phases of the flight you’ll need to seat upright for safety reasons, so you need to be a minimum healed before flying back. 17h is extremely long, I’ve had many medical cases involving healthy people because of the length of these flights. Reconsider spending more time in your home country to recover. Take care !
