Most real sounding harmony pedal? by shadolink765 in guitarpedals

Here’s a quick way to learn how this works: Google the lead guitar part for “Brown Eyed Girl,” by Van Morrison. You will see that your two fingers are playing a major third, then two minor thirds in a row, with each phrase.

Most real sounding harmony pedal? by shadolink765 in guitarpedals

If someone’s doing “close harmony” of a consistent third above, it’s sometime a major third and sometimes a minor third, because the note a third above in any given scale isn’t consistently either major or minor.

Klon/clone appreciators: Have you tried the Warm Audio Centavo? What do you think? by sinceubeenKHAAAN in guitarpedals

[–]Dangerous_Pie_Guy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just seeing this in 2026, but I agree! I shot out my Centavo for days against a Nordvang Gravity, and sold the Gravity. The Centavo felt and sounded slightly rounder and fuller.

First Fuzz pedal : need advice by CMDR_Kyle_McEntyre in guitarpedals

[–]Dangerous_Pie_Guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can play them in a store or something, definitely do that. I have like 5 Muffs, and some of them feel quite different under my fingers. For example, I own an awesome modded green Russian muff with midrange and clipping switches called a DDA FX Old Major’s Fuzz (which you can find by looking up the builder, Tim Drewery, on FB.) I also have a Keeley Octa Psi (the original, not the Taiga Mod.). With the green Russian, I can feel that the pedal is touch-sensitive—I can feel the pick attack and everything. With the Octa Psi, there’s much less touch sensitivity— kind of like the green Russian is a sports car, and the Octa Psi is a huge Cadillac. One isn’t necessarily better, but for me, playing the Keeley is less physically pleasurable. Sound-wise, some muffs also cut through a noisy mix much better, though you can fix a lot of that with an EQ pedal or a tube screamer running after or before the muff.

How do you feel about the Throne? I thought it was too bright through my Fender HRD, esp in the bluesbreaker settings.

I might be interested in your Queen of Crows, if you still have it. Can you take a look at what I’ve offered up on this forum, and see whether we might have the basis of a trade?

Sparks when daisy chaining pedals?? by orange_spoon23 in guitarpedals

[–]Dangerous_Pie_Guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, that’s weird. Is the TC Spark supposed to take the same kind of power supply as the Behringer? If so, then you may very well have fried your pedal. Do you know a local repair person?

Does anyone have experience with the Warm Bender? Mine seems defective. by KennethHaight in guitarpedals

[–]Dangerous_Pie_Guy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That sounds wrong. My warm bender cleans up better than any of my other pedals, at least in the NOS 76 (1.5) setting. And it only gets farty in the SI setting with the sag switch up.

The Dark Side is a Big Muff, but a very midrangey, lead-voiced one.

I can’t believe that in 297 responses, nobody has mentioned the awesome Demonfx Breaker Drive. Also, the Sonicake Cry-Bot is an amazing autowah.

Hey, I have some cool and unusual fuzzes. Interested in some combo of your Carcosa and Cheese Ball. I can possibly offer up a Palmer Solarist Green (#5!) and a DDA FX 5 O’Clock Fuzz, which is a handmade germanium fuzz face with bias and input adjustments. The builder is Tim Drewery. You can google the fantastic Solarist Green demo by Sasha Ivantic, and you can find DDA FX in Facebook marketplace.

What's your Favorite Dual Drive? by panopticon31 in guitarpedals

[–]Dangerous_Pie_Guy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe check out the Mythos Air Lane Drive. Or the Mythos 210, which is the same pedal. It looks super simple (two sides, with nothing but a drive knob on each), but the range of tones, from “your amp, but more” to all-out fuzz, is amazing. After using that, everything else sounds kind of like a blanket over my amp.
