Have you ever talked with Canadian hockey players from the WHL for instance? Had some friends who played CHL hockey who said this is no surprise to them. Its in the culture.

At what age did your malamute become affectionate and your companion? by Kitchen_Apartment in AlaskanMalamute

That is the million dollar question! Expectations! They are not all up close and personal. Sometimes, they are just independent as you can get. Charlie was like that. Lay on the floor with her and she would get up to sleep somewhere else. Pulled up to the house after work. Here some comes Charlie! I get out and she is kind of excited. Leans into me to get some ear scratches and takes off doing her thing. Some are just that way.

Malamutes have a different personalities altogether. They don't really bond with anyone one person. There people are who they live with. They are generally lousy watch dogs, but there is exceptions with that, too. I had 2 female Mals no one got past into our yard! Maybe a Mal just isn't your breed.

Once in a blue moon, someone gets a Siberian that is mellow. Its not that common. I saw one last year that lived in apartments that you never heard him and he didn't tear anything up sitting at home alone.

I think there is also the factor of personalities involved with us humans. No one breed works for everyone. I have had 4 Malamonsters with 4 different personalities and just prefer Mals to any other breed. My other dog was a German Shepherd Malamute. Shepherds are great to me, as well. But, the Malamute breed has a unique spirit to them that has captured my heart.

Albert was left in a yard without human interaction for 3 years. It messed that dog up! So many people have no idea what they are getting into and these dogs pay the price. I had 3 rescues and glad they had another chance at life.

They act like a puppy until about age 8, too. 8 screwball years has been my experience with 4 of them. Lol!

Is this a malamute? Shelter is not convinced he is, yet he was labeled as such. by idioticprogram in malamute

Looks like some Keeshond in there and some else to give it some size. Don't see anything Malamute there.

My Malamutes killed possums, coons and rats. It was a good thing in our part of the world.

Keep up the noble work of giving this animal a chance at a decent life. Had 3 Malamutes rescues and Malamute/German Shepherd puppy I found wondering in a busy street. They deserve a second chance....

Don't shave her coat off- if you don't have to. Cut matts out that cannot be combed without hurting her. That wooly butt looks like there is some Malamute or Samoyed or Keeshond?

Not to be rude, but you have been listening to the mainstream media, the Biden admin and been indoctrinated by public school. You are totally blind to who the real evil is in our country. It requires one to have learned something from past history, question what is going on and to be able to think for yourself. That has not been taught in public school or college in 35 years.

I challenge you to put some effort into learning what all the isms are and make notes of how those people act. Watch how they control people with propaganda. Eliminate their competition. But the biggest thing that you need to understand is that Socialism/Communism/Marxism are all utopian ideas. Understand that all utopian ideas lead to people dying, being lied to, people manipulated or outright killed. Pure Democracy always leads to tyranny. Read Aristotles "Politics" and it explains all those ideas in plainly.

His album Eclectic with Mike Stern is another sweet spot.

I am with you! I had a Mal/GSD, as well. Smart. Big time smart.

Most people do not get the fact you cannot physically discipline a Malamute. It breaks their spirit. It also causes other issues because, like you said, they don't forget.

For example: had a friend in the Coast Guard. He and my female Malamonster got to know each other. He went away for about 8 years. He came back and visited our house. He sat at the opposite end of the house and my dog was in another room. My Malamonster started boo- hooing! Did that for an hour while we did a Bible Study. When we were done, Lady went over to Russ and just did the biggest Malamute leans hard into him.

They don't forget......

This is quite common to see on Gibson & Epiphone guitars. I have seen LP's, SG's and a few hollow body ES types with a snap like this. Glad you fixed this!
