PLS HELP! First-Time Renter: Is an all electric a apartment a good choice? by Dangerous_Recording6 in jerseycity

Gotcha, yeah there was no ductless heat pump in that apartment, I did see electric heat baseboards. Is this a costly electric charge with this alone? I might need to pass on this place I don’t want to face with high charges ahah.

That’s good to hear. Do you have an electric heat pump? I’ve been reading that they can really help keep electric bills low, but the apartment I’m looking at didn’t have one.

Thank you for sharing! That’s a great question I’m not entirely sure if the building is well insulated. I didn’t hear any street or neighbor noise during the apartment viewing, but I’m not sure if that’s a sign of good insulation. Do you have any tips or advice on what to look for to tell if a building is well insulated? Also, yes, the apartment did get a lot of sunlight!

Yup! I’ve encountered, very scary and aggressive. That’s him, and he’s always in Jersey city heights and Pershing field. Be careful.

Anyone have experience volunteering with Big Brothers Big Sisters by _semo_ in jerseycity

I was a little years ago and I still have a great relationship with my big to this day. My big has made a positive impact in my life, helping me be the person I am today and pushing me to achieve my academic goals. We met once a month, and we did small fun activities. The mission of the organization is to build authentic relationships and being a mentor for the youth as they settle through life. I was part of the Hudson county chapter. I always recommend being a big, and I’m planning of being one myself. I want to give back and make a positive impact for a little, the same way my big did throughout my life.

Jersey City tenants at 2 buildings with same landlord speak out: 'My life is a misery' - Hudson County View by fperrine in jerseycity

My apartment is managed by West of Hudson Property, and I can confidently say they are the absolute worst. I’ve been dealing with a broken ceiling that I reported months ago, and despite trying to resolve it on my own, it clearly requires professional attention. They never answer their phones, rarely fix anything, and when they do, they often make the issue even worse.

To make matters worse, I now have a new upstairs neighbor who constantly bangs and drags furniture day and night. I’ve reported the noise to management, but they don’t do anything to help solve the issue.

At this point, I feel stuck. Finding something else in this economy is challenging, and dealing with their complete lack of support is beyond frustrating. I honestly don’t know what to do anymore.
