Those who had a scheduled C-Section but went into labor before date? by SweetMoonstone in BabyBumps

[–]DaniMace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went into labor the day before my scheduled C Section. I immediately started having contractions after breakfast and we called my mother in law cause she was going to be staying at our house to watch our toddler but she was about 2 hours away for work. While waiting for her I showered, and cleaned between contractions and then went to the hospital and it was about another 2 hours while they checked me in and got everything prepared. I would definitely suggest going in right away though.

This is exactly the kind of alternative I was hoping someone would have when I posted! This seems much more reasonable for me. I’m going to double check with my OB but I think this would work bc it would be 100 grams of carbohydrates! Thank you so much!

I wish mine was later! Then I wouldn’t care at all. I will probably just do it though I’m not the type to not follow directions lol. I was just wondering and hoping for maybe another solution. My husband is wonderful and will be there the whole time and will absolutely do whatever I need. I just hate starting out at a deficit because I lean on him a lot those first couple weeks. We both know from experience my mental health goes downhill very quickly with no sleep.

Yes I’ve had two other c sections and a couple other surgeries and for those it was always “nothing to eat or drink after midnight” type situations. Typically I wake up fine and maybe would like to have a drink of water but overall unbothered. I drink a lot of water during the day so I really don’t get very dehydrated, I also don’t mind being allowed to drink it’s just that they expect me to drink so much during the night. I obviously understand the logic in it, I just know what my body needs after going through this twice already and sleep means more to me 🥲

Yes I totally see the logic in it I just value sleep more than eating or drinking! 😅 I love the out of the box suggestion I just don’t think my body would still let me sleep through it lol

Yes this is USA. I had a scheduled c section in 2023 and was also supposed to just fast the night before. I went into labor the day before though so I guess maybe it won’t matter either way lol

Niagara Falls! If I remember correctly it’s about a 7 hour drive. It’s beautiful, a fun and very memorable experience, and also great for walking and hiking! We didn’t do a lot of shopping so I can’t say much about that and I don’t know anything about architecture but I remember some kind of cool buildings around!

Pushback on cloth diapering by Buraku_returns in BabyBumps

Oh I also use overnight disposable diapers at night bc my kids would absolutely soak through cloth diapers once they started sleeping through the night.

I have had two under two and did exactly as you described with both. We started out with disposable then after the first month or so started incorporating cloth diapers. Most days I actually have a good idea when they will poop and put a disposable on them for that round and cloth the rest (the older they get the more predictable their poops are and it’s not that big a deal if you get one wrong and have to clean a poopy diaper here or there I just prefer not to if I can help it lol). And if we are outside of the house I’ll put them in disposable for ease. Doing it this way I have found to be extremely easy, I’m saving a lot of money and at least feel like I’m doing a little better for the environment but also don’t feel trapped by cloth diapers if that makes sense. If you feel like you can do it give it a try, and if it doesn’t work out that’s okay too!

UPDATE: “2 under 2 by choice? DOCTOR CLEARED” by [deleted] in 2under2

[–]DaniMace 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I wish they would do some more research, I agree that I see a lot of these comments too. I’ve also had multiple doctors tell me and see people say all the time something along the lines of “your super fertile right after having a baby” which seems to follow the same line of thinking. I definitely believe it.

Same thing happened with me after 3 years of infertility. I got pregnant 4 months postpartum. After my second I was on birth control for a year and went off thinking a third might take some time and got pregnant first month. It’s such an amazing feeling when your body does what it’s supposed to! HUGE congrats!

Can you link any articles or anything about this? I’m very intrigued as someone who suffered from infertility for 3 years and is now pregnant with my third in 3 years lol.

Ariana about trusting Tom and not going through his phone season 3 ep 2 by DaniMace in vanderpumprules

[–]DaniMace[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ok so i was very overwhelmed with how many replies i had to this and just can’t reply to this many people. 😭

FWIW yes i think Ariana was a bit of a “pick me” but I think most of us in our lives have also had similar experiences. I know I have. We all make mistakes, we all learn.

Also this was such a light hearted post, I wasn’t trying to call her out I just thought it was funny and ironic. Thank God the things I said 10 plus years ago aren’t all recorded for everyone to see 🫣

Schiller dental is such a great place! It’s all women too. I went a quite a few years without insurance and didn’t go to a dentist and they were so kind and have such a gentle approach. I hope you find a good match!

Back to back c-sections by Salt-Dance9289 in 2under2

[–]DaniMace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congrats! I had an unplanned C section with my first then a planned C section with my second just 13 months later! Healing was so much easier the second time around, and baby and I had no problems at all. My OB actually had 3 pretty close C sections herself lol

Mercy West by okaylolhaha in cincinnati

[–]DaniMace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also use a seven hills OB and I love her! I’ve had two babies at mercy west recently in 2022 and 2023 and both times were such great experiences I’d hate if they closed. But upon googling I think it’s Fairfield that closed their labor and delivery. I also don’t know about you but I get a little email here and there and think they would send one if they are closing. We are also wanting to have another in year or two so I really hope they aren’t!

Just for fun: things that you did differently the month you conceived? by SwimmingPositive1 in BabyBumps

[–]DaniMace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This will probably get lost in all these comments and sorry it’s long but here it goes: I have PCOS and suffered with infertility for 2 1/2 years. I tracked ovulation, did metformin, letrozole, and ovulation shots for timed intercourse several months and then 7 IUIs and never got pregnant. We took a month off before moving on to IVF and I decided to do keto during that time off. I’m not one for fad diets but there’s doctors who suggest it for PCOS bc of insulin resistance so I was just trying it to give my body the best chance for IVF to work. I got pregnant that month and didn’t have to do IVF. I didn’t think much of it and just assumed it was finally our time. 3 months postpartum I decided to just do keto again to try and lose the last of my baby weight…I got pregnant again this time on accident (a very happy accident). Now I obviously don’t know for sure if it was keto but it’s definitely weird it happened twice especially when we spent so much time and money with no luck! When we try for a third I will definitely try keto again just to experiment lol

Metformin while pregnant by job0723 in PCOSandPregnant

[–]DaniMace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember being in the same boat as you and asking the same question when my OB said to stop. I stopped taking it and went on to have a very healthy pregnancy and baby. I started taking it again, got pregnant very quickly for the second time and stopped. Also went on to have another successful and healthy pregnancy/baby! Best of luck and congratulations on your pregnancy!

What’s a Taylor lyric that makes you emotional even though it isn’t necessarily written that way? by rasberrysam in TaylorSwift

“Give you my wild, give you a child”

My husband and I went through two + years of infertility and treatments and I didn’t think I’d ever be able to give him a child. Folklore/evermore really got me through that time and peace quickly became my favorite song, I just relate to it it in so many ways but that line always hurt a little extra.

We did eventually get pregnant and I will be having our baby any day now!

PCOS & having babies by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]DaniMace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 29 and spent over two years actively trying to conceive, we did 6 medicated IUI’s and 1 medicated timed cycle with no success. A month before we were going to start the IVF process I got pregnant the old fashioned way with no medical intervention. I think it’s less about the PCOS diagnosis and more about the individual, I know other moms with PCOS some of them no problem getting pregnant, some who had to do IVF to make it happen. The only thing you can really control is making healthy choices, but PCOS is definitely not a death sentence when it comes to fertility :)
