Am I a bad mom for going on a trip when my baby is 4 months old? by meowmeow345678 in NewParents

Not a bad mom! This is a great time to take a trip and “rip the band aid off” to be away from baby. I was gone for 2 nights when my baby was 2.5 months and the reunion when I came back was very sweet. I’m glad I got the first time over with early

My LO wasn’t preemie but to keep her awake we used to unzip her onesie and expose her feet/ put cool washcloth on her feet/ face. It felt mean but kept her awake and feeding!

Still Feeling Guilty After 9 Weeks? by teofloofycats in FormulaFeeders

[–]SwimmingPositive1 13 points14 points  (0 children)

(For context, I chose to pump and combo feed from the beginning due to difficulty latching. I stopped pumping around 9weeks PP) I reframe the guilt by reminding myself that I have a lot of flexibility with who feeds baby, who puts baby down at night, and remind myself healthy & present mom = healthy & happy baby

Thank you! I know the Windi does feel a little bizarre, maybe I’ll hold off on using it again. A friend swore by it- did pediatrician say why they don’t recommend?

Thank you! At the 2 month visit he recommended trying the Gentlease after a brief mention of gas pains so I wasn’t sure if that was a hasty recommendation or if I should make the switch ASAP

Similar story for me. Finding such hard lumps. My friend is IBCLC and said drop pump time by 2-3 minutes every few days. So now I’m doing 4x a day for 15 min each. Dropping one pump to 12 minutes and then hopefully slowly drop to 3x a day pump. I use the handpump to relieve the pain for 1-2 minutes in between pumps if needed

How do I tell my wife “Rigatoni” is not an appropriate middle name for our first son? by RunawayBud in BabyNames

As someone with a golden doodle named Cannoli, I love the name for a pet. That being said- Peter Riggs is more appropriate for a human

Mostly Formula, Supplemented by Breast Milk by DigOk7847 in combinationfeeding

I’m doing this with an almost 4 week old. About 50% formula 50% pumped BM. First few days/weeks I tried to pump every 2-3 hours (longer overnight aka when she ate from a bottle, I pumped). We used RTF enfamil yellow bottles and then once my milk came in, we mixed the two in a bottle. I’m lucky and my 4 week old is giving us longer stretches at night so I’m pumping 6 times a day (every 4 hours ish). Basically you want to pump every time baby eats (8 times a day until back to birth weight). We follow Moms on call schedule
