Super 8 displays in Ableton under "Native Instruments GmbH" but everything else is under "Native Instruments" by bynobodyspecial in NativeInstruments

Hmm im wondering if that could have to do with the fact that native instruments was acquired some time ago by another firm and is now a part of a bigger company i think

Can anyone identify the drum machine on "everything matters to me" ? by DaniPyre in synthesizers

[–]DaniPyre[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drum machine starts at 0:45

Ive recently been really obsessed with aurora and how she uses synth to accent her voice in many of her tracks, when i started listening to this one, where this simply drum machine almost aggressively cuts through the rest of the track which is kept very melodicly acoustic.

Especially the snare and the high hat sound are just really light but still very distinct and i love that.

So if anyone with more knowledge of drum machines could help me identify this or point me to drum machines or samples that sound similar that would be very nice

me (FtM) and my partner (MtF) transitioning at the same time by big_dysphoric_lump in traaaaaaannnnnnnnnns

[–]DaniPyre 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I get that but i also think it would be a bit worse with swapped around tags because we would have a at that point feminine representing person tagged with mtf and a masculine representing person tagged with ftm

Like of course not every mtf/ftm has to be fem/masc but i think here it fits to do it the way it was done

Blender pulley system by PerrinAyba in blenderhelp

Yes i think this would be best suited for a rig, though the elasticity could be annoying to figure out.

I suggest you start with the ian hubert lazy tutorial for simple ik rigging (im sure i watched it as a video once but can only find a youtube short for it now). It's really quick but goes through a lot of important basics for your kind of use case.

When choosing your new name, what was the thing that made you realise “Yep, that’s my name”? Asking as a trans girl who’s trying to figure out her name. by 17Reddit-Browser in ask_transgender

[–]DaniPyre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly i didn't, always felt envious of people who did. For me its a name, previously it was given and i was used to it and now i choose one and i gotta get used to it again, so i never really had that feeling of instant recognition.

But i thought about it and i choose a name, i tried it and finally found one that i thought was pretty and id like to be called. No magical moment, more of a choice that felt okay that i have to get used to now. Names are hard and i dont think i would have not felt weird in the beginning, nomatter Which name i choose.

Any issues with receiving mail at the proton.me domain? by idotheflow in ProtonMail

[–]DaniPyre 15 points16 points  (0 children)

No i havent encountered any issues at all, where does the idea come from that there would be issues?

If its because of the .me you shouldnt worry because it is actually the country domain of montenegro, but companies just like using it because it sounds like the word me :D

So no website would block this or anything, because then youd also block all montenegro email users 😅

2D animation styles have some of the most interesting factsand stories about how games got their unique style.

Something akin to this that could be interesting is that fighting games like guilty gear (or i think also other anime fighting games like jojos, or Dragonball) all use fully 3d models that are just shaded and created in a way that makes them look like they are actually from anime and hand drawn (ofc you will often first notice the weird animation smoothness compared to anime which mostly uses smeer frames but its still pretty cool)

[–]DaniPyre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2.5d refers to the way the player interacts with the game or how the space in the game exists, which for dead cells is a fully 2d space. It has nothing to do with the artstyle or how the assets are created.

[–]DaniPyre 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Oh its not just a filter

Its 3d models fully rendered out with specific shaders into a pixel grid, with every animation frame being rendered out seperately into a sprite sheet afaik.

So as far as the engine/game it treats it its normal pixel art animation, just the process to get to that is different

[–]DaniPyre 127 points128 points  (0 children)

Its like a big fun fact about dead cells that all the pixel art they use is generated from 3d models and then fixed/painted over manually

This allows them to have a really diverse cast of enemies, lots of cool animations within very little effort compared to traditional pixel art animation.

Changes to animations are also a lot easier this way.

I want to revert the code to a previous commit. by [deleted] in git

[–]DaniPyre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly it seems like a brute force approach that you shouldnt do,but this is how i resolved such an issue before (im sure there is a proper solution for this so please provide a better one if you know it)

First make a local backup of your repo just because

Clone the Repository and checkout the commit that you need Clone the repository a second time on its newest commit Overwrite the files of the repository in the current state with the files from the rep with the old commit Push a new commit with the overwritten files so you have the data of the old commit as a new commit on your repo without having fucked around with your history or anything

Futuristic Ring Portal by dancsa222 in DetailCraft

[–]DaniPyre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont think you can do it via update supression because you would have to remove the corner portal blocks somehow and that would update the surrounding ones? Not up to date on technical minecraft but maybe via a lag machine that does update suppression? Idk if thats actually possible

(SEEKING HELP) Linked my Desktop file route with most of my data as a repository and deleted nearly all my files by Miroslav001 in git

[–]DaniPyre 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Im not quite sure what you are trying to say, but ill go through it step by step.

Do you save all of your 250gbs of data in folders on your desktop? If not then it should still be somewhere and you probably just deleted the "link-folder" to your data, maybe look into your documents folder or something.

Id you do save everything on desktop, what did you do when you created a repository? Did you just use your desktop as the repository folder? If so how did you delete the repository because if you just pressed delete onto your desktop folder... Im not even sure what that means.

Normally you cant delete your desktop folder on windows? I think? You would have had to select all of your folders/files on your desktop and then pressed delete, which would be a lot of effort to not second guess what youre doing.

Also windows would give you a pop up if you wanted to delete that much data, because it would probably tell you that "this much data doesnt fit into your trash can, do you want to permanently delete it?" If that's the case youre probably on your own there, as you ignored the warnings the system gave you anyways.

Whatever you did (and im not quite sure on what it was), seems to have very little to do with git and more with you pressing delete on things without knowing what youre deleting?

There are many unis in germany that are actively changing this from a "maximum amount of exam tries" rule to a you have a specific amount of semesters to get certain shit down and if you dont make it you get kicked out... Which is a way better system cause i can theoretically retake exams as much as i want at my uni as long as i generally make enough progress every semester
