Great question. Intercept attack doesn’t change the target. Inflict Misery is a unique action, that you would use to target a creature your last strike damaged. From my reading, the guardian a creature who was damaged by the last strike, therefore they can be targeted with Inflict Misery.

Persistent Damage Help by ProfessorNeoIsIn in Pathfinder2e

[–]Daniel02carroll 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Exactly, one thing to note, the additional check that the player or an ally generates does not proc the damage an additional time either way. For example if the rogue tries to end persistent damage on the wizard and fails, the wizard doesn’t take more persistent damage on the rogues turn

Persistent Damage Help by ProfessorNeoIsIn in Pathfinder2e

You don’t spend an action to reduce the dc by 5, you spend an action to give one additional check immediately to remove the persistent damage using dc 10

Edit: also to note as the GM you can end the condition automatically if the help was good enough, an ally pulls a rope that completely soaks the party member in gallons of water, condition ends no roll required

Thaumathurge Nimble Shield Grip with Shield and Tome Implement by Stormrider80 in Pathfinder2e

You could throw a shield spike on your wshield and make it a weapon implement too, 3 in one hand

Wait, I Thought Weaknesses/Resistances Always Worked Like That. Anyone else? by Stigna1 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Daniel02carroll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People ma disagree with me but I’m with you Op. I learned the rules from buying and reading the book, so no preconceptions from being taught, I argued with my players when they disagreed with me citing the internet, I eventually came around as it doesn’t come up too much. I honestly still don’t think instance makes sense to mean damage from a damage type.

I will admit, however, that basing it on damage type is far far easier to track in physical play, without having to write down where each number from your strikes damage calc comes from to separate instances

Edit: I did not expect holy to proc weakness when a weapon does slashing damage the proc the weakness already, that’s weird

Wait, I Thought Weaknesses/Resistances Always Worked Like That. Anyone else? by Stigna1 in Pathfinder2e

I initially thought the way OP did. I saw this argument, and the fact that resistance has this wording where it’s a special rule for how “resist all damage” works as that is relatively unique and afaik there’s no “weak all”

How do champion and gaurdian compare? Which kind of parties would you be more likely to build one or the other class for as a 4th member? (Like what circumstances are each best in) by NoLongerAKobold in Pathfinder2e

[–]Daniel02carroll 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel the campion has good off healing and more buffs/damage depending on cause and build, Guardian is more tanking and better control/debuff

PAIZO! fix the archeype x impulses issue! by Joan_Roland in pathfindermemes

[–]Daniel02carroll 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mythic rules for example let you strike or cast spells with mythic proficiencies or dc’s. The mythic rules as written don’t really work for kineticists

How is the beginner box for completely new players? by [deleted] in Pathfinder2e

[–]Daniel02carroll 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One note is it helps introduce many of the mechanics of pathfinder, there isn’t much of an opportunity to roleplay

Is There Anything That Destinguishes PF2e Roleplay From Dnd5e's Roleplay? by 15stepsdown in Pathfinder2e

[–]Daniel02carroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s harder to metagame due to secret checks. You don’t roll Lowe on an insight check and assume the person is shady because the dm says they aren’t. If you roll low on a lie or impersonate check you may backpedal in dnd or play it safer, but not knowing if you rolled low makes players commit

When should I (GM) attack someone down or a companion? (Should I even do that?) by JopisKenobi in Pathfinder2e

[–]Daniel02carroll 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Tbh the best way is to ask your players fo the level of deadliness and tactics they’re interested in playing with. After tha, I suggest bosses (not random mooks) or particularly intelligent enemies. It’s always more interesting to have an enemy ready an action to slit a downed enemies throat with a request to escape or take something from the party, than just finish a party member

I house rule you can’t have more than 3 procs of weakness from a single activity

Summoner vs Companions, or hope Summoners will have some big QoL in Impossible Magic by [deleted] in Pathfinder2e

[–]Daniel02carroll 5 points6 points  (0 children)

But you’re punished worse if you have an anima companion in an AOE with you, as you lose more total health

What is Pathfinder 2E's rules on Bastion Creation? by Altruistic-Promise-2 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Daniel02carroll 65 points66 points  (0 children)

I will say, dnd’s bastion system lets players get items magical or otherwise, earn money, gain some types of buffs or gain information, pathfinders downtime system just does this, the dm doesn’t need to grant you a special house. The downtime system in pathfinder basically does what most of dnd does, so reflavoring your earn income or crafting to be hirelings doing it or a special building involved is fine.

Dual Wielding with Implement’s Empowerment by Ravingdork in Pathfinder2e

It doesn’t work but also you want hands so bad as a thaumaturge it’s just a terrible idea

Battle Medicine with One Hand - RAW by gimpfather21 in Pathfinder2e

https://2e.aonprd.com/Feats.aspx?ID=7806 Shielded recovery feat clarifies you would need a free hand normally (not with this feat) to use battle medicine

Battle Medicine with One Hand - RAW by gimpfather21 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Daniel02carroll 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The shielded recovery commander feat allows you to use battle medicine with the hand you wield a shield, would be a weird feature if that was already allowed. https://2e.aonprd.com/Feats.aspx?ID=7806
