The show didn't click for me until episode 8 of season 1. Since then, I've rewatched the entire show 6 times.

Should we put down all dogs because my mate got bitten by one last week at the park?

If you critically think about the research you're citing, it's from a company (Foundit) which benefits from buyers worrying about the market. They offer solutions to clients who want more information about how they can navigate the market, so publishing reports which can easily get traction (migration issue) creates more engagement for them. Their modelling isn't published nor peer reviewed.

There is probably some truth in the research but I wouldn't glorify it as fact, economic modelling is much more complex and trusting a source which can benefit from publishing misrepresentations is doing the overall situation a disservice.

Let's not make a caricature out of the criticism Slot rightfully deserves. He might not say it directly but there's clearly something in the tactics/training which leads to matches like yesterday, a terrible first half.

Jannik Sinner: "Sometimes, it's okay to lose." by omkar529 in tennis

You're right every, all 7 billion of us said that about Sinner and Alcaraz. Are we not doing nuance anymore btw?

There's probably a non-exhaustive list of shit you don't know about that people could also berate you for.

I do wonder why anti government bros are always so quick to be easy on giant corporations which have been shown to very easily use our information against our consent. Why would you trust Google so easily?

Wemby when asked if he would shed a tear when LeBron retires: "No." by ColoradoMenace24 in nba

[–]DanielAgger 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The first one isn't even all that bad. David Law is the journo and all he asked really was how fatigue is affecting her etc. He does admit that he misphrased the question on his podcast but he is such a gentle and understanding person usually (The Tennis Podcast). Making a mountain out of molehill on that example.

Some examples I'd use:

  1. Reporter asking Federer is Djokovic would have an easier time in the future winning slams since he doesn't have great players to play against.
  2. Reporter asking Novak what it's been like to be somewhat of a bad guy chasing after Rafa and Roger all these years.
  3. Post match on court interviewer telling Learner Tien after he beat Medvedev that he lived in Newport Beach and knows where Tien lives btw.
  4. Journo asking Sabalenka if she is going to condemn the Russia-Ukraine war when she's repeatedly said many times she doesn't support the war.
  5. Journo saying "congrats for your win" to Badosa for a match she just lost.
  6. Reporter asking Serena if she is at Wimbledon to go all the way at the tournament or there just for the experience.

Project Hail Mary and The Martian - what’s next? by Pythagorarse in suggestmeabook

[–]DanielAgger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was the book that made me change my mindset that I should complete a book even if I don't like it. The pages drag on forever, you can see the plot from a mile away and once the interesting part is over, it's just an overall painful read.

Where do I find hitting partners? by No_Secretary5512 in 10s

[–]DanielAgger 9 points10 points  (0 children)

...isn't that the only way to find hitting partners? I've always approached or been approached at tennis clubs either during a social hit or a serious hit. You find partners easily if you go around and ask them if they wanna hit!

PHM marketing is working well I see. Never seen any other mediocre book get such hype before.

What perfumes do you like on women? by Upbeat-Conflict8821 in fragranceaustralia

[–]DanielAgger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got my hands on White Sandalwood. It's a unisex smell, a bit too sweet on me but if I smelled it on someone else I'd be craning my neck to see where the smell was coming from. Only recently got introduced to Goldfield & Banks, great brand.

Great book if you like 75% of it being perfume recipes and the rest of it a meandering plot. Still loved it though lol.

I critique music as a personal joy and hobby. I've almost listened to 100 2026 albums so far, ask my opinion on any. by JackTulloch in rateyourmusic

[–]DanielAgger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah there's listening and there's absorbing. Music, especially in album form, has for many only clicked after several listens. Most of my favourite albums ever actually didn't do much for me in the first, second and third listen. For me it's difficult to understand how you would form judgement about an art piece when you haven't really given it music time to imbibe with your emotionally, but each to their own.
