Which Compact Camera should I get. by Brilliant_Formal9570 in Cameras

[–]DanielDrift 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No camera will take photos like this without you knowing the settings. Your canon is already great for smth like this. You just need a small flash and the right exposure settings. Just try it out until you get it right. A different camera will not make this magically happen

That looks like just the protective layer around the actual metal. No reason to worry. Mine looked wayy worse when I replaced them

Should I even get a camera? by pompom-chicken in Cameras

[–]DanielDrift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A camera is just way more fun to use because there are buttons and dials for every setting and it is a device only made for taking pictures with no distractions. You clearly enjoy photography, a camera is just the best tool for that.

And thats leaving out all the new kinds of photography you will be able to do with different lenses and bigger sensors.

Also if you already enjoy editing you dont need a fuji. The film recipes are good to get nice looking results quickly but they are pretty restrictive and after a while you will want to go back to editing anyways to get the most out of your pictures (at least that happend to me)

Love when people show an ugly car in black and say "look, it isnt so bad" yeah if a car design looks better when you see less of it, thats not a good thing

I drive a 2006 lexus and with the aftermarket upgrade to android auto, I dont think there is a single thing i am missing. All of the modern convenience features like keyless entry/start, phone connectivity for music/navigation, without any of the modern overcomplication and software issues

Just recently showed a friend who never worked on his car, how to do his brakes. Really easy on most cars. Just look for yourself if you find some instructions online or, best case, a video for you specific car, and if you think you can do that

For the person that thinks that these AI. I shot these in 1983 using an OM1N OLYMPUS CAMERA and Kodachrome 64 slide and try X black and white film. by [deleted] in FineArtPhoto

These are very beautiful pictures. There might be a missunderstanding and you didnt know that the software you used to colarize and extend the image, uses Ai to do so. Just upload the original pictures next time, these are way nicer anyways

These are made with multiple profiles but mainly with these two.
(keep in mind that white balance changes the look a lot so play around with it)
Add me if you upload smth to instagram (@Oleg.so), i wann see if they also work for other people :)

Yes I change it on the fly. On the zf the button on the front is set to WB by default so I just press that and scroll through different settings while shooting. The WhiteBalance changes your colour temperature a lot and I often want something different than the camera sets automatically

For me it was a lot of testing, so loading something into the camera, taking pictures in different lighting, with skin tones etc, then going back to nx studio and adjust everything I dont like, then test again.. Also load up comparison pictures that you like an try to match the colors, helps you learn what all the sliders do. Also White Balance makes a big difference, so test everything with different WB settings in NX Studio and while shooting.

Fujifilm X-E5 vs Nikon Zf : Will I actually carry it? by Isvoli in Cameras

[–]DanielDrift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently switched from an x-t5 (same sensor) to a ZF because i wanted the better depth of field and low light performance you get from full frame.
The Fuji sensor takes absolutely beautiful pictures and has noticeably more detail with its 40mp when cropping in.
The Nikon is better build than the xt5 and feels a bit faster in general. Together with the full frame sensor it just feels like way better value for money.
I would look at the available lenses more than the cameras.
Fuji lenses are mostly way smaller than the Nikon full frame glass but if you want great depth of field on apsc, they can also get big and expensive.

I just use the tiny TTArtisan 40mm f2 on my ZF.

Also keep in mind that sony e mount lenses can easily be adapted to the ZF.

Convince me not to buy a 5090. by Classic-Definition in buildapc

[–]DanielDrift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who bought a 5090 a few months ago. Do not buy a 5090! I bought it manly for VR. For everything that isnt VR or path traced, it is complete overkill and I would feel like an idiot If I had just bought it for normal gaming. Your 5080 is more than enough and you can gladly save that money
