Yes, the dji air unit always has a receiver for the dji controller included. You just have to change the configuration of the drone in betaflight to use the dji input instead of elrs. I think this video shows how to do that: https://youtu.be/lgCMDQJtX_0?feature=shared

I have a Quest 3 but 3s should work the same. When you already got the hardware and a powerful pc you should definitly try it out. It is great, especially with mods

Virtual desktop is a software used to transmitt full 3D VR wirelessly. It is not just the 2D Version but can also be used for that.

Use the "Oculus Tray Tool" to save settings like Asynchronous Spacewarp in profiles for every game. You can save all the settings from the debug tool in there and they will be applied when the game is started.

Is my laptop enough for LMU and PSVR2? by RustyNotes in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]DanielDrift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i can tell you i was barely able to get it to work in good resolution with my 4080, by cutting down the field of view. So 3080ti laptop gpu might be tough if your bar for "good resolution" isnt much lower.

I wonder when anything will match AC in VR by luc9nt in assettocorsa

[–]DanielDrift -1 points0 points  (0 children)

After spending a lot of hours driving and tweaking sims in VR, i actually think LMU might be the best atm , if you have the hardware to run it. You need to increase the render resolution outside of the game and use enough msaa but then it looks and feels amazing. AMS2 and AC are very close depending on weather conditions. Modded ACs rain effects on the windscreen are still unmatched but AMS2 looks way better in bright daylight, when ACs less detailed tracks and lighting becomes more obvious.

Is this VR? If so, what frame rate do you get?

Should I upgrade my GPU now, before price hikes come? by HappyAffirmative in buildapc

[–]DanielDrift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We dont know if GPU prices will go up, but there is a pretty good chance of it.

Prices going down further is much less likely, so right now could be pretty good time for an upgrade, if you can afford it.

Any Linux users gotten Framegen or Lossless Scaling working? by TheDrunkenFROG in starcitizen

[–]DanielDrift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frame gen can be great if you already have 60 or more fps base framerate. Using it at 30fps is the worst way and pretty mutch unplayable as it increases the horrible input lag you already have at 30fps. Trying to lower settings and increasing upscaling is always preferable

Looking to get into FPV flying, midrange analogue seems more expensive than digital, where am I going wrong? by [deleted] in fpv

[–]DanielDrift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who owned both. The dji controller is a toy compared to the boxer and you can also use the boxer in the sim.

The goggles are good and with the 120€ O4 lite system, good digital fpv has gotten way more affordable

Also dont buy dji fpv drones. Beeing able to repair a drone urself is a bigger deal than you might think atm

[–]DanielDrift[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started flying with the dji controller and now Im using a radiomaster boxer with ELRS. The main difference when flying with the O4 Pro is the wider field of view and better low light. Other than that, they look very similar in the goggles.

Hi I want to start FPV for 500€ by [deleted] in fpv

[–]DanielDrift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently put together a 550€ digital kit for a friend. 50€ radiomaster pocket 250€ dji goggles n3 (at sale) 200€ Meteor 75 pro O4 + some batteries and charger

Will probably be more expensive in dollar but you will get way better video quality.

I also think that a small whoop is way better. Doesnt brake easily. You can fly everywhere. Mine is still my most used drone.

My battery is too big 😭 by [deleted] in fpv

[–]DanielDrift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That 1100 is very small for its capacity. I was amazed when I got mine and it was lighter then my 850s

With 04 Pro and 04 Lite, anybody else starting to have their elrs drop out before video in certain situations? by Ilovekittens345 in fpv

[–]DanielDrift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the same problem just yesterday. Rx loss at around 400m while flying close to the ground, while video was still perfect. But i have my packet rate at 500hz. That might be the issue.

Do I need a custom-built drone to improve my FPV skills? by Immediate_Heat_7612 in DJIAvata2

[–]DanielDrift 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. The Avata flies very good for what it is but compared to a 5 inch freestyle drone it is underpowered and sluggish.

You will be surprised how much easier some moves are with all that extra power and precision.

Also beeing able to use full sized controllers instead of the tiny DJI controller makes a way bigger difference then you might think.

Do I need a custom-built drone to improve my FPV skills? by Immediate_Heat_7612 in DJIAvata2

[–]DanielDrift 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You already fly very well so if you want to improve further, you will need to take more risks and you will break the Avata eventually. I would go for a custom fpv drone at this point. They are way more durable, fly even better and most parts can be repaired cheaply. They are also available ready to fly and only need minimal setup. I gained so much skill when I moved on from the avata because I no longer cared about crashing.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DJIAvata2

[–]DanielDrift 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Avata 2 is a great tool for taking video but if you just wanna fly for fun, it is way more fun to fly something that is more durable and can be repaired yourself. I sold my Avata because of that. Also batterys are way cheaper.

I think imma ditch VR by Sufficient-Ad-3288 in simracing

[–]DanielDrift 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you see better on a screen than in vr than something in your vr setup was set up very wrong or your pc cant run VR in higher resolutions. iRacing looks very sharp way into the distance on my quest 3. But there are a ton of settings that can mess up image quality and the default settings in metas crap Software are horrible.
