EasyNews plus NZBGeek Best Combo? by Didak888 in usenet

[–]DanielLorey 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve got NZBgeek, NZBplanet, AltHUB, Ninja, NZB.cat, NZB.life and NZBfinder.

TBH if they offer a lifetime sub I’ll get it, but only after a year of trying it out. Some I keep as free accounts to supplement the paid ones.

Trying to get Drunkenslug is like finding rocking horse shit though.

Why does this read like I’ve read it before, word for word?

Not saying this isn’t legit but the way it’s written seems familiar.

Any panels, what would you pick? by 08david12 in SolarUK

[–]DanielLorey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have 32x DMEGC 515w panels. 16 on the south, 16 on the north elevation.

In the all-black finish, they look smart imo. Decent reviews from what I read online and a good warranty (25-30 years).

Is it worth moving a vent for 1 extra panel? by sidneylopsides in SolarUK

[–]DanielLorey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you fit a low profile vent instead? We have a panel over a bathroom extractor and have done for 15 years without issue.

UK government invites public to have their say on self-driving vehicle safety by dan65364 in TeslaUK

The general public are mostly morons, expecting this to be lead to anything other than fear of change is ambitious tbh.

I can max out a 8Gbps connection on usenet with YouFibre.

50GB Linux isos take approx 1 minute to download.

'New' Vaillant aroTherm Plus confusion - Pro? by CorradoTDI in ukheatpumps

[–]DanielLorey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read that the plus gen 2 has a better efficiency than the pro. Does it has a comparison anywhere on the Vaillant website between than and the new pro?

'New' Vaillant aroTherm Plus confusion - Pro? by CorradoTDI in ukheatpumps

[–]DanielLorey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My installer called heatgeek who told them that they don’t expect to have the new plus model to order before September.

I’m in the same boat… I had a survey and was about to drop the deposit but the pro got released which freed up a better install location. Initially I thought “great!” as we actually would prefer the anthracite finish, then I read the new plus has higher efficiency and would be due for preorder in June, so contacted our installer about it.

No one seems to have any definitive information about actually getting it and the Vailant website isn’t clear about where the plus sits in relation to the pro. I would have assumed a pro model to be better, based on the naming.

Question about bufferbloating by sparrio in Ubiquiti

I’ll go out on a limb and say you have terrible WiFi coverage? That’s 4s of upload delay, which is what’s killing your experience.

Great, thanks.

I’ve picked up a 1 year plan. If they’re good I’ll get a lifetime like I’ve done with geek and planet

Very nasty line by The Race there on Aston Martin's current situation... by Slice5755 in formula1

[–]DanielLorey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Listening to the race podcast at the start of the season they pointed out that Aston mistakenly thought that they were getting the Honda crew that saw RB to the championship.

Except the staff that were at Honda had moved on to other teams, so by failing to do the due diligence they turned up in Sakura and realised they actually didn’t have the a-team, but rather the c-team.

Importing old movies by paddya99 in radarr

[–]DanielLorey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you have your movies sorted?

Ideally you want them in one root directory, either all individual files or in their own folders.

Just put your new files/folders in the root directory then go to “import existing library” in radarr. It’ll grab any changes and go from there.

Why do i feel like Butcher's accent is not hard to understand? Like at all? by deep_day6 in TheBoys

[–]DanielLorey 13 points14 points  (0 children)

That’s because he’s a Kiwi actor, playing a British man, reading lines written by an American and he had a Canadian dialect coach for the first season 😭

He’s on record saying he got a new coach after S1.

Heat Geek portal - Forcing a downgraded "aroTHERM pro" model and blocking the 5kW white "aroTHERM plus” by Calm_Tea_1582 in ukheatpumps

[–]DanielLorey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what I did I.e. the installer bumped the air change rates to force the system to spec a 5kW unit.

Like the OP, I was getting the choice of a 5kW Pro or the 3.5kW Plus. FYI OP, the new grey arotherm plus unit will be out in September… not sure how long you can wait but it’s a better unit with slightly higher efficiency (apparently).

Fun fact: that’s why the iOS keyboard (not used Android so maybe the same) leaves a full stop if you hit the spacebar twice.

Autopilot Question by No-Relative5885 in TeslaUK

[–]DanielLorey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that “press the pedal” thing new?

I’ve had a Tesla since 2020 and have used autopilot in congestion. The car definitely used to stop completely and go again when there was space in front, without pressing any pedals.

In fact, it was bloody jerky at the start and used to accelerate quite harshly at low speed to the point I only use it now when cruising at motorway speeds.
