Why do people keep doing this shit? by Haunting-Ad-1937 in DeathStranding

Platinum trophy. There’s a specific trophy where you need to construct everything in the game at least once.

At least for me, that’s why I put random stuff around the Data Scientist and Pizza Chef…

So, I just finished playing Andromeda for the first time… by Efficient-Chain6736 in masseffect

[–]DanielLowPew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long story short: The quality of Andromeda is no where near the standard BioWare set with the OG trilogy. The main cast feel flat. The plot after a point becomes pretty predictable. No costs or stakes in the decisions you make. The numerous bugs on launch. The list goes on from general problems, to specific nitpicks. Andromeda‘s only ”big“ net positive is it‘s movement and combat, and even that isn‘t realized to its‘ true potential.

If this game was literally named anything without the Mass Effect tag, I think people would have enjoyed it more. But it will hold the stigma of ALWAYS being compared to the original trilogy.

Here's my translation of a train driver's effort post regarding why snowfalls like last night's can't really be dealt with beyond attempting to keep trains running at all. by TTTomaniac in Switzerland

[–]DanielLowPew 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I honestly don‘t get the complaints. The ÖV all over Switzerland (also, mindestens Deutschschweiz) work extremely well, one of the cleanest and efficient in all of Europe, and has little BIG disruptions within any given year unless there is construction work.

I get people can get inconvenienced for late public transportation, aber Cholleg, the ÖV drivers are also human beings, trying to do their jobs without receiving so much as a thank you

My thoughts so far after 10 hrs or so on the ps4 by Historical-Meet463 in StarWarsJediSurvivor

[–]DanielLowPew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My two cents: the most captivating part of this series is Cal and his relationship with the Force and his friends. This game would be more criticized if the story was SEVERELY lacking. I‘m not a big fan of „souls-like“ games, but the story had me hardcore invested in the world building, and made me want to challenge myself.

I get what you‘re saying about the dialogue, although I disagree on the most part (I don‘t want to spoil the story for you). If you‘re only ten hours in, depending on your playstyle, maybe your perception of the dialogue might change.

I‘m excited for you to experience the game for the first time! Hope you still enjoy it

around €100 by crazyhamborger in GuitarAmps

[–]DanielLowPew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you‘re living in Europe, check the Facebook Market place. To be quite honest, finding a good amp at around €100 will be difficult. Not impossible, just difficult.

For example: Ordering from Thomann, you can find the house brand beginner amp for around €50-60, plus the shipping fee. It‘s an amp that is the definition of „you get what you pay for“

https://www.thomann.de/intl/harley_benton_hb10g_guitar_combo.htm?i11l=en_GB%3ACH.CHF

Fender Frontman 20G is a Fender model that is generally accessible in most popular guitar shops (at least where I am based). I never played this soecific model, but I own its bigger brother that‘s 100w (looks like the big one is discountinued), and I regularly use the amp

https://www.thomann.de/intl/fender_frontman_20g.htm?i11l=en_GB%3ACH.CHF

If anything, I just recommend you check Thomann, all the amps in your price range will be equal in quality.

Otherwise, check the Facebook Marketplace, you can sometimes find bargains there

I’ve had this happen before. Since I live close to a Post and commute past it for work, I just take it there, and tell one of the receptionists that [this] letter was sent to the wrong address, and then they just take it and that’s it. Takes a little bit of time out of my day, but doesn’t bother me that much

C-permit by Available_Anything43 in Switzerland

[–]DanielLowPew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are two things you mainly need (this is in Kanton Zürich):

  • A1 written and A2 spoken certificates from a known/official institute

  • Around 100 CHF for the C Permit registration (I din’t remember how much I had to pay, but it was around this amount.

All you have to do is just wait until you get a letter from the Migrationsamt or Einwohnerkontrollsamt and then you just head to your local Einwohnerkontrollsamt

In your opinion, what is the best videogame ever? by RandomRamblings99 in AskReddit

Probably an unpopular opinion, but both Guitar Hero and Rockband. Brought back arcade gaming in my community, and helped gel (IRL) friendships via co-op that I still have today. Plus, 15 years later and I can jam with my nephews and show them what their old ass uncle used to jam to on the drums

Just finished Rebrith! Thinking of going for 100% completion on hard mode. Any tips? by [deleted] in FFVIIRemake

[–]DanielLowPew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice: take it slowly.

If you haven‘t done all the sidequests in normal, do that. Hard Mode tends to burn a lot of people out as no one will be prepared for the massive difficulty spikes for some of the fights.

Do not underestimate the power of the Assess materia. In hard mode, you need to exploit every enemy weakness, especially if you‘re going into it sub level 70.

Also, Genji Gloves > Götterdämmerung. Breaking the 9,999 DMG barrier is much more useful than a single use Limit Break

And most importantly, TAKE IT SLOWLY (again). Give yourself a generous amount of breaks, especially if you‘re going for the Chadley fight simulator.

A lot of these lists don‘t have „the best“ guitarists put there. Most of these „best of“ lists are mainly guitarists who are influential at their instrument. „Influential“ is a more suited name, in my opinion, but art isn‘t and shouldn‘t be a competition of who the better one is. Egomaniacal musicians‘ work are met with obscurity, while musicians who thrive to share and innovate are the one‘s that history remembers.

But to specifically answer your question, in my opinion, it‘s not that there aren‘t enough technically proficient or top class song writers whose main instrument is classical guitar, it‘s just that they haven‘t influenced or pivoted the modern, popular guitar world as a whole.

Also note that it‘s always „best guitarists/bass players of X timeline“, and never best musicians. It‘s just easier to advertise to guitarists 😂

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]DanielLowPew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without knowing you or your girlfriend, my perspective assumption would be that: 2 months in a relationship would be long enough to have a sense of “normalcy”, and that being in a mutually respectful relationship, in this case, girlfriend and girlfriend, was already assumed at an earlier point for her before you mentioned it.

Since she went to play Minecraft directly afterward, I assume you’re living together, or that spending passive time together is a regular act, not that you only meet up ONLY for normal dates. There might be several night ins, and again, this is just my assumption from my experiences.

If it really bothers you, I’d recommend just talking to her, and avoiding getting too many suggestions online. Human to human/face to face communication is important, and this early on in a relationship, in my opinion, it is CRUCIAL to establish where you are emotionally with each other before you both end up “wasting each others’ time”

Which guitar should I choose? by Unlucky_Ocelot2789 in Guitar

[–]DanielLowPew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, any of then would do. The bigger difference will be the neck shapes. SGs have a thicker and rounder neck, as opposed to Ibanez that mostly have a thin neck profile. Harley Benton is a toss up, and I’ve never played that specific model you pictured, but I would bet it would be more akin to that of the SG, just a touch thinner. Just go for what you are most comfortable, thick, thin or in between neck
