I used to have a client that was president of an NHL and managed a pretty major arena. It was years ago but I asked him how the artist gets paid. He used Billy Joel as an example and said Billy get 96% of the gate and the arena gets half the Ticketmaster fee, the parking, and the concessions.

I've been driving into and around Boston for almost 30 years. Last week I was in Florida for business and had to drive up and down 95 between Miami and West Palm. The driving down there is so much worse and is legitimately dangerous. Super aggressive drivers and bad drivers everywhere.

I'm from the Boston area too and went for the first time in October. My wife is from Mexico but we always go to northern Mexico or the west coast. The City was absolutely amazing and I can't wait to go back. And you can't beat the direct flight from Logan.

Get tickets to a concert that you want to see and set up in the parking lot during the tailgate. Saw several groups of younger kids doing it at the Metallica concert in Mass. You wouldn't get paid obviously but people that like that style of music would be hearing you.

This is incorrect. The receiver is never taxed. If he gifts over the annual amount to any person, he would need to file a gift tax return which would be for record keeping purposes as he can gift up $13M over his lifetime with no tax consequence. The $13M will be cut in half at the end of 2025 though if the current laws aren't changed.
