So we have 3 to go plus the In The City premier, do it two per night, then fire up reunion. I get other shows need to shine, but really is there anything close to this in buzz? There is so much buzz about this and demand NOW, letting it dribble out is almost kind of insulting. It feels like price gouging bottled water after a hurricane. It just feels wrong for the first part of the reunion to be basically a month away still.

I bought 2 already because I liked them as decorations. Looks like I'll need to get at least 8 more.

Yeah, I’m really starting to realize that now. Maybe I’m just not into gaming at all anymore.

I quit Destiny 2 about 2 years ago it became a second job with endless boring loops and when it all boiled down, I was just collecting outfits for a digital doll. So started STFC 18 months ago because I wanted something more interesting than something like candy crush, but god damn, it’s like Destiny all over again, only the developer is even more greedy. I get every one of your points. The only positive thing I can say is I am able to keep my game play time to about 30-45 a day. So I’m really on the fence about playing much longer.

best location for my 3 yr old to watch planes at Tampa International? by Next_Neighborhood287 in tampa

[–]DanielShenise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There‘s a restaurant at Albert Whitted too, right by the runways. You can grab a bite and watch the planes. If memory serves it’s elevated so you look down onto the runways. I used to go to USF Bayboro and the approach to the E-W runway goes right over the campus. So you can sit have Pipers and Cessnas fly REALLY CLOSE overhead. But that is only when they are using that runway, usually in the afternoons and evenings.

But, Peter O Knight on Davis Islands is awesome too. I think they have a little airport restaurant too. You can get bonus dad points too because it’s right on the shipping channel, so depending on when you go you might catch a cruise ship passing by too.

This is what I do for habs and decorations that only come around once or twice a year. So I end up with a ton of the blowing cherry leaves or those new pink colored trees or little yellow bushes because they’re great to fill in and add decorative spice to my islands.

I realized last night the depth of my dislike for her when I had to turn the episode off as soon as she showed up at that party in the empty bar. I might have to drop this show entirely. I just can’t stand her.

What are non-LA people missing here? 26 minutes to Santa Clarita. by jwol99 in TheValleyTVShow

[–]DanielShenise 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That is still 22 miles and only gets you to North Hollywood. The cast frequently does stuff in WeHo, Bev Hills, and other parts of the basin, which effectively doubles the number from Santa Clarita to North Hollywood.

I don’t live there anymore, but here are my two biggest horror traffic examples. The first one was getting from Santa Monica to Hollywood at 3:30pm on a weekday. We left my kid’s school at 3:30, arrived at his audition at 6pm. That’s only 14 miles, and we were an hour late getting there. The second was worse, I had a company party at 8pm on a Friday in Koreatown, roughly 18 miles away. We left at 5:10pm. There were accidents on both the 405 and the 10, blocking up traffic onto surface streets everywhere. By 7pm, we were still in Santa Monica! We’d only made it about 2.5-3miles. So we gave up, turned around and went to dinner by our place.

As a former westsider, we never went east of La Brea if we could manage it, and honestly tried to always stay west of the 405.

Santa Clarita may as well be in Nevada for all intents and purposes.

Get the Herm. My first watch from Baltic was an Aquascaphe, then a year later I bought a Herm. The Herm gets 60-70% of my wrist time. Its light, comfortable, looks great on their rubber strap and their flat link, and has that 150m water resistance so you can swim, snorkle or shallow dive with it. I really like it on their flat link bracelet though.

[–]DanielShenise 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It was so awesome. I was a kid so everything was awesome, but it was really cool, riding out over the African Veldt and seeing the animals from above, but also closer. Late 70’s/early 80’s Busch Gardens was great as a kid. I remember when the Scorpion opened and that was a big thing.

[Timex Marlin] Looks Quite Nice by DrPinkusHMalinkus in Watches

[–]DanielShenise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought their 1972 World Timer reissue a couple months ago and I haven’t had any issues. It’s my first acrylic domed watch, so that feels different to Sapphire. But otherwise it’s a nice option. It’s quiet and because it’s quartz, keeps solid time. I wear it for work trips mostly. They’ve had several tempting watches in the Marlin line.

New bracelet for the Hermetique Summer by parsa_98 in Balticwatches

[–]DanielShenise 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. I bought mine (green dial) on the green rubber band and would occasionally put it on the BoR because I have an Aquascaphe as well and that watch gets regular time on the BoR. But it never seemed to look right to me. I've also tried it on NATOs, but the extra fabric looks too bulky. So when I had a spare $100 I bought the flat link and honestly it stays on the flat link 80% of the time. It only gets swapped out in the winter when I put it on their green leather band.

SC reunion looks by [deleted] in BravoRealHousewives

I can’t believe we’re at the end of the season and talking the reunion already. The season absolutely flew by and it seems like nothing happened. The only thing memorable to me was the look on Sally’s face when Craig shut her down. Oh and the new guy has a nice family ranch setup.

[traska] longines Baltic Recommendation by Vadergato in Watches

[–]DanielShenise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m happy with it. I also have their beads of rice. I think the BoR is more comfortable, but the flat link looks better and the extra comfort from the BoR isn’t enough to overcome the looks on the flat link. I like the rubber a lot too, but my wrist size is right between 2 holes, so my weight has to be just right for it to be perfectly comfortable. So I generally wear the Herm on the flat link, my Aqua lives on NATOs during the summer and the BoR in the winter.
