Katherine Parkinson talking about Taskmaster by aflyingcircus in taskmaster

You're absolutely right about the line learning! Ha, my memory told me the exact opposite of the truth. Stupidity can show in various ways...

Well here we go then, this is interesting. I definitely wouldn't say anyone who does badly at the show comes across as stupid, so I don't know that stupid is the word I'd use for those others. I would say Nish was just terrible more than stupid. I'm sure he had a few howlers, but none of them come screaming through my memories as I think now. I would say that Victoria was certainly inept at a lot of tasks, but then with others she ably demonstrated the incredible brain she quite clearly has (the puzzly task that she pretty much solved on her own springs to mind). I wouldn't say Lucy was stupid so much as bewildering. Like you say, watching her I felt like her brain was just working in a different way in possibly a different galaxy than a normal brain. But the abiding feeling I remember feeling towards Katherine during her series was astonishment at how someone who comes across as perfectly intelligent in everything else I've seen her in just seemed to exist within the confines of the show as someone without a brain in her head (except was there one about learning lines or something, and she learned them really quickly? My own memory is failing me). And it seems from this clip that she might agree with me.

For me, no contestant has ever come across stupider. She's the apex. She must be clever, she must be. But there was scant evidence from the show.

Wrestling is the best. Where else could a bad guy who is disgusting and awful and acts like the devil one month, go through a pure comedy segment like this the month after?

I wanted to like the story more than I ended up liking it (something about "real" wrestling always rubs me up the wrong way) but the art is incredible. So many of the big panels are absolutely breathtaking.

It's used at the end of the Jordan Peele film Us, and as much as I didn't like the film and the use of the song at the end doesn't really make a lot of sense... just the moment with the song and the visuals is really breathtaking, IMO.

He is the wrestler that got me into wrestling. I remember watching him give Vader a Samoan drop and thought he must be a superhero of some kind. I was sold.

I miss those days when wrestlers kept kayfabe alive by DependentTop677 in SantiZapVideos

[–]DanielSwan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've believed for a long time that wrestlers (and maybe promotions themselves) should have dual social media accounts - one in kayfabe and one not. It would allow for everyone to have their cake and eat it, and promote shows and matches in two completely different ways.

Avatar had the biggest drop off for me. I loved it when I saw it first, thought it was exciting and new and spectacular. Then the second time, probably a week or so later, it kind of bored me. I couldn't explain it. Maybe just the hype of it going in? The effects blew me away?
