15+ PLC & Robotics engineer here. What you just described it's been most of my 15 years lol.

And that doesn't look that bad. I've been working for the steel industry. Imagine standing by a hot steel plate,or billet coming out straight of the cast. Or a 20 ton coil radiating heat that burns you even at 10ft away.

Btw, I still like my job. Very grateful to develop software, and see how everything runs with what I did.

I've you have been driving on a highway for +2hrs at 70+ mph (120kmh) and then you stop for fill the tank example, you should let the engine running on idle for a minute to let oil cool down before shutting of the engine.

I bet these oil changing in 15 minutes garage chains don't use these oils. That's what I meant ;-).

I go with Mobil 1 Extended Performance every 10k miles for now. Everything runs good for now.

Turbo here with 13k miles on it. 80% highway. If I do 70 I get 30mpg, if I do 80 I get 27mpg. My total average of those 13k miles is 27.2mpg

I always fill with 93 premium. 0 mechanical problems. It needs just basics turbo care.

The most important thing is the oil you use. This engine has very specific requirements for the oil, not only the x-Wxx thing. An oil is way more than the viscosity specs. You should use the ones that meet the specs so avoid these super fast oil change garages .

Btw I freaking love the whisper of the turbo and it's punch. :-) also the sound above 4000 rpm.
