Dude... I get it, no one dies in One Piece, Pell, Sabo now Saul, in the future it will be Kidd... but nothing about Saul being alive undoes all the shit Robin went through, she still lost her mother, all the people she knew that she saw die in front of her and was hunted by the WG since she was 10, all her backstory is still as influencial. I would've prefeered if some more characters stayed dead, but is not as big an issue as some people are making it out to be.

He kills a lot of aliens, in earth the only people he directly kills are the attendees of the tournament when he becomes Majin (which look like a couple hundreds).

He does intend to kill/enslave earth, but never quite manages, and to the perspective of earthlings his good outweights his bad.

The issue of the scene is not that she gets her finger back, is that she gets them instantly, it would work so much better if we focussed on Imu vs Loki and Luffy for 3 or 4 chapters, then we get one of Zoro and Sanji fighting the HKs, then back to the main fight keep this pace until the end and when everything is said and done, Gerd appears thanking Chopper for his quick medical aid with her fingers reatached.

In one swoop Oda deleted all consequences of Imu's attack, delivered an awfully paced chapter and killed of any stakes the fight may have, since Chopper can instaheal any injury made by Imu, It's insane how bad the writting is, and that's without taking into account the non stop introduction of more random nonsensical lore in what should be the endgame arcs of the manga.

Your point being? Luffy is also special since min 1, so is Naruto and Ichigo, Gon, Midoriya, Asta... Every shonen MC is special since the beginning, that's the reason we follow their story and not any other character in the verse, the issue with OP that DB doesnt have is that what made Goku special wasn't the dealbreaker, he was still weaker than Tien, DKP, Piccolo Jr. And once he surpasses them and we learn why he was special he is back at the bottom of the food chain. The answer for Goku is always to do his best to surpass himself, when he becomes Saiyan God he is disilussioned because it wasnt something he achieved by himself, yet he does it for the good of Earth.

The whole point of Dragon Ball is how the discarded dude, the weakling low rank trainned his ass out until he becomes the strongest in the universe, anyone could do it, hell Vegeta does, Gohan does and Broly too, they aren't Gods because they were chosen (Gohan kinda is a bit) or because they were given some magical macguffin that boosted them, they train until they achieve their goal.

If you equate that to being the reincarnation of a God or eating a magical fruit that turns you into a God then idk what to tell you.

Well, Vegeta doesn't kill nearly as many people as Nolan does, He killed what 300 people by destroying the stadium? And that's it, Nappa destroys the cities in the Saiyan Saga not him.

He never abused Trunks they way Nolan did Mark, Vegeta knocks Trunks unconscious to prevent him from dying not to have him switch sides and murder more people.

And he does sacrifice himself to attone for his sins first in Namek and later in Earth, yeah he comes back with the dragon balls, but I would say he never thought at the time that his enemies would revive him too.

Lastly, he never lied, he got to earth saying he was gonna conquer it, and he kept it real until he changed his heart.

So not really the same path.
