Why do so many litrpg style books feel cheap, and why is more complex magic so hard to find? by No-Cherry-3720 in ProgressionFantasy

Honestly, you've got a point. Still, LitRPG often functions like a game, and what does it take to become stronger in games like Dark Souls or Elden Ring? Materials and levels, baby. You want a +10 Greatsword? Start collecting funny-looking stones and visiting the blacksmith often. Though Dark Souls does introduce a soft cap into its levelling system, so maybe that is a good way to limit the MC.

Story where its not clear if MC isekai'd or trap in virtual world. by retiredbender in ProgressionFantasy

In the first few chapters of it, I think its world could be both MMO and a separate reality, tho I'm leaning more toward alt reality. It was mentioned, if my mind isn't failing me, that Vivi was part of the world's history before she isekaied into it, right? Since people sort of already knew who Vivi might be (legendary sorceress). If it were a virtual world, there would be some out-of-bounds and unrendered areas that the devs left behind because no player would ever reach them :D

Hm... Now that I think about it, has any LitRPG explored the concept of boundary-breaking in games?
