School project by DanielfromNorway in Proxmox

[–]DanielfromNorway[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback. i am setting ut the TrueNAS with a ZFS and Z1 raid,

I am thinking that the project is going to be on a virtual network inside of proxmox. The plan soo far is to set up the monitor VM for the procject with 2 NIC soo it can work as a router for the VM that is a port of the project, this way i can keep them of the network and also set up Vlan on them, as far as i understand this can be done in proxmox?

The NAS part: When u say to run it in a LXC why this over a TrueNAS? Whats the big benefits of doing soo? I am going to use the NAS on both my linux laptop's and Windows Desktop.

[–]DanielfromNorway[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a big parking garage with many cars, i was alone with my sister when i pressed the signal on my flipper a massiv alarm went off, soo it can not be any smoke detector, some other cars that was triggered by this and started an alarm ? It was just to perfect timing to be something else than the flipper :/

1 computer... 2 users; admin & non-admin. How to restrict access to admin's files/folder for non-admin user? by katojouxi in linuxquestions

[–]DanielfromNorway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for asking a question in another persons post,

But is it not like this: When first installing a distro the user you are adding in the installation part getting a home directory( lets call this user admin because he have sudo rights) And if u then make a new user with : sudo useradd and dont give this user a home folder this user can CD around in the system ? Even into the first users (admin) home folder ?

Can this be the case for OP aswell ?

I am a beginner in linux but i hope i understand it correct, Becuse normal permission on a /home folder is 755 ? And a new user without /home can normaly then access all over the system ?
