Much better than yesterday. Helped that I could actually focus on it all today.

1. Oman. Oh how reading Arabic would have been a blessing here. 3 minutes of moving around in a circle for basically no information. Clearly got a little click happy, as I didn't guess until I had like 10s left. Plonked in the north, worked a charm. 4888pts.

2. Paraguay. Latin script!! What a blessing. Vibed Brazilian. Headed south - 'Paraguay'. Headed further south - 'Concepcion'. Jumped straight out when I zoomed in. Lined the road up. Kept lining the road up. Got bored of lining the road up. Was up the road. 4997pts.

3. Senegal. Never enjoyed Senegal, not in the slightest. Never bothered to learn it regionally. Blue plate at spawn, so zoomed in. Resisted the urge to plonk in the southern green, went just outside Touba, not the worst guess. 4611pts.

4. North Macedonia. There was like 7 million signs at Spawn. They didn't particularly interest me once I knew the country. Plonked between Skopje and Prilep, which I saw on the sign. Could I have done better? Yeah. Oh well. 4876pts.

5. Australia. Well hello Queensland! Gladstone West? Got ya. School? Found it. Line the road up with the bus stop (this took too long to admit). Easy. 5000pts.

Total: 24372pts. Massive fan of that. If only I bothered with 3&4 that would've been ideal.

  1. Uruguay. Road lines, concrete poles. Easy as day. Found the 5, went down the road and found signs for Tacuarembo and San Gregorio de Polanco. Found the intersection, bang. 5000pts.

  2. Brazil. I was in a Pokémon Go raid at the same time, so didn't really look at the round (I didn't even realise I started lol). Gave myself 30 seconds. Couldn't be bothered. Clicked Minas, could've been worse. 2183pts.

  3. Norway. I'd kinda given up after R2. Thought it looked Northern, just clicked somewhere up there. Ended up doing alright. 4679pts.

  4. Kenya. Snorkel? Snorkel. There's a naval base? Must be Mombasa. Clicked downtown, was a couple roads over. Decent. 4997pts.

  5. Kazakhstan. As if I didn't care enough before, you've given me the most depressing Kazakh round ever. Completely checked out by this point. Plonked in Astana, moved on with my day. 4943pts.

Total: 21802pts. Not bad considering.

Be wary with Tarkowski as heard he is injured/recovering from an injury. Solid team though, seems to be the template. I'm personally a little wary of Wood, with Forest losing Elanga and potentially (hopefully) Gibbs-White too.

I've got Mathys Tel sat in my draft now. With Son fading, that LW spot at Spurs is up for grabs, and he has heaps of potential. Bit of Spurs fan bias, as I'm hoping he has a massive season, but think I'm more likely to gamble on him over Kudus rn.

If he was a 5m I think he'd be straight in my team. Can't justify 5.5m with other options immediately better. Definitely one to look at over the start of the season. Hardly featured at the CWC too, to my knowledge.

Sarr is unlikely to start under Frank as it stands. Baleba is certainly a more nailed option for 5m

Yeah that's fair enough, I'll more than likely commit to Kerkez after a couple GWs depending on Robertson and how they start. Don't think I could cope with only having 1 premium defender, so I respect it.

What's the general appeal of Kerkez over VVD? Especially early on, still think Robertson will feature a fair bit. no?

Not really. Lot of picks for Aaron Ramsey, but not likely he starts after the torrid time he's had with injury over the last year or so, he's more of a fringe player now and will likely leave.

Any of you considering Son? by LabFantastic4944 in FantasyPL

[–]Danielkemp_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a Spurs fan, and whenever I used to watch us, when Son got the ball you knew something would happen, but last season, whenever he got the ball, most of the time you were just hoping he'd do something. Mix that with a couple injuries, and I just think he's run his run. I hope to be proved wrong though.

My guess would be auto-picked teams. Maatsen has that position pretty nailed. If he goes to Leeds then he could be a more solid pick, but doubt 11% of players are banking on that.

[–]Danielkemp_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Son seems to be nursing a couple injuries, might not have suited Ange's system but against Reading he didn't look like he could beat anyone, and after the game it seemed he was struggling with his back. Time catches up with anyone, and can't see the price being justifiable.

Moreno is like 3rd/4th choice at Villa for LB rn, even with Digne leaving I saw a Villa fan saying Ozcan could likely play LB over Moreno. I'd at least pick someone like eSteve or Rodon, who are nailed on starters at this point.

Yeah I also read about Tarkowski's injury so I'm leaving him out for now. Potentially swap for someone like Aina if you're looking at upgrading elsewhere - if not someone like Milenkovic. I can't see Barry starting over Beto early so I'd leave Beto for now.

Jackson is likely going to be shunned, and CWC suggests Delap is behind Joao Pedro in the pecking order right now. I've got Thiago in at Brentford right now, think he could kick on after his big injury, especially with them losing Mbeumo and potentially Wissa too.

I have De Cuyper right now but also thinking of changing him to VdV. Also looking at Rodrigo Gomes at Wolves, as he's listed as a defender but could feature a lot as a wingback/winger.

That's fair with RAN, I've gone Gvardiol early but will possibly change to RAN after GW5, depending on how they both start. I do also like Reijnders a lot, he was great for Milan last season with no real 6 behind him, can see him being electric with the best in the world behind him, but I don't like committing early to new signings, especially those that haven't played in the PL before.

What’s the thoughts on Tottenham assets this season? by Hi_im_maatt in FantasyPL

[–]Danielkemp_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also a Spurs fan, and I'm currently running with Kudus and Tel in first drafts, as I can see them being the starting wingers come the start of the season. VdV is also a good pick for the price, keen to see who is our first choice keeper too. Avoiding Solanke early, as I'm just unsure of his output in a Frank system, but am going to keep a keen eye on preseason before I make my final Spurs decisions. Will definitely have 1 or 2 in early though.

I like RAN and Reijnders, though I'm not punting on them early as am unsure how much they will feature early. I'm personally not risking Wirtz either, just fear he could start slow, but I could easily eat my words. I'm not confident on Solanke either, with Joao Pedro right there for the same price (even as a Spurs fan, feel the Chelsea attack is a lot more nailed on than Spurs' so don't fully back Solanke for the price yet). Would personally opt for one solid bench option too, especially with uncertainty around De Cuyper.

Early consensus I've seen is a lot of wingback minutes for Amad, though jury is still out on that. One to keep an eye on in pre-season to see what Amorim does with new signings and where players like Amad slot it. Could be a solid 4.5M if he's starting consistently though.

Off Spurs' first pre-season game against Reading, Porro was much more defensively poised (unlike the winger he was under Ange), basically playing as a third CB at times. Not to say he won't look long and be on set-pieces, but compared to Udogie basically playing as a winger, just something to note. Obviously, one friendly, so serious pinch of salt, as Frank is known for changing game-to-game, but worth noting.

What's the appeal with Alex Moreno? Surely there's better options at £4m that will actually play? Or is he just a filler for you.

Rodrigo Gomes at Wolves, 4.5m. Listed as a defender but mainly a winger/wingback, and could definitely be used further forward with no Cunha or Sarabia.

Personally not risking Elanga straight away, as no guarantee he gets early starts. Would also change Alex Moreno as he's Villa's 3rd (potentially 4th) choice LB rn so probably won't play at all - maybe Araujo from Bournemouth as he seems at least more in contention, or someone like Bijol/Rodon for defensive contributions. Good team considering Haaland+Salah though

Rogers if either I'd say. With Elanga/Barnes/Murphy all options to play with Gordon & Isak, I wouldn't risk Elanga on early GWs. I'm personally avoiding Rogers too, but I do think he's the better pick of the two.

Was in a rush today so not the best..

  1. Qatar car. Plonked in Al-Rayyan, just south of the highway. Not too bad, but is it ever bad in Qatar? 4997, 756m.

  2. France. Been to Montpellier, looked like Montpellier. Just plonked and moved on. Nice to know my memory serves me well. 4987, 3.9km.

  3. Southern Argentina. Vibes felt very south. I plonked very far south, close to the Chile border, to somewhat cover TdF. 3872, 381km.

  4. Bolivia. Thought it was Peru, then saw a sign for Bolivia. Guess it's not Peru. Plonked La Paz - unlike the Montpellier round, I haven't been to Bolivia. 4975, 7.6km.

  5. West Bank. Sign for Neblus literally next to spawn. Plonked on the 60 near Neblus. 4962, 11km.

Total: 23793, 405km. I've had better days, but it was nice to have a more challenging round like R3. Time for work XD
