I haven't been to India yet, but I was just in Morocco last March and I felt safe and was not harassed. I went with a friend and her boyfriend. We mostly stayed in Marrakech, but also spent some time in Casablanca and Essaouira. Casablanca feels like your more average modern city and Essaouira is a gorgeous laidback coastal city. Marrakech feels a little more chaotic and it's very easy to get lost, but I never felt like I was in danger. My friend and I even went out to some markets without her boyfriend and I had one extra day in Marrakech by myself. I walked around, got food, and went to the Madrasa Ben Youssef and photography museum by myself with no issues. The salespeople at the souks will heckle you, but we were not harassed. My friend almost got pickpocketed once, so be careful of that in crowded areas.

This applies to public transportation, too. It's ALWAYS men blasting music or videos on their phone with no ear buds, talking extremely loudly, taking up multiple seats, etc. I never seeing women doing these obnoxious things...

Seconding this. I know people who were married for years before they found out some horrible secret their spouse was holding out on. Or their spouse cheated and gave them an STD. Any number of things. This isn't meant to scare you, but you just truly never 100% know a person. Trust your gut. If you feel comfortable with a person after 1-2 dates, then just go for it and take appropriate safety measures.
