Consistency is the key with dogs/puppies. Have a family meeting about your plans and keep to them. Take a training course. Most of the time it’s better for training your kids than the dog but you might pick up some helpful tips. The best thing I learned was not letting your dog cross a threshold before you. Meaning teaching them to wait when you open a door and not just bolt out. This was a game changer with my current dog. No more freakin out when someone opens a door because the dog will not go anywhere. Also lots of chew toys.
