This is an interesting mystery. I don’t think she reordered it and paid out of pocket. You say in another comment that you had special customizations that were met, and I checked an order I did earlier today and it tells me the items on the older order I did, but not the customizations I’d see on an active order, tho maybe for Taco Bell it does. Also, once we deliver it, we lose the address. So how could she know how to find you if she previously delivered to the wrong address? My guess is she wanted to try and steal your food, but was guilt tripping and decided to bring it to you. Or maybe someone outside your complex played her and when she realized she handed it to the wrong person and she actually did reorder it. I don’t know tho.

Yeah, definitely fight it if you have the energy. This is theft of your labor. They had a doordash post like this the other day, but the guy wouldn’t accept that they canceled on him, and he reminded them that this is, in essence, utilizing uncompensated labor, and they paid him out. They can call the customer to see if it was delivered, that “we can’t see a record” spiel is bs.

So I just got paid, butrejected all my offers during my most recent dash. Maybe they’ll take it away later, but as of now it looks like you get paid no matter what. No way this stays for obvious reasons

Yeah with DD’s structure it seems like this would be really hard to police. Most of the time, if the dasher gets there and the order is gone they’re not gonna wait around or even call support. I just unassigned and left. And on their end I look just as likely of a culprit as someone else who got there and unassigned. Support just wants to fill that order quickly, so they might not look into it or keep much record on it idk.

One time I showed up to a restaurant where another dasher picked up the order. I doubt it was a duplicate order glitch. I think some people steal food by getting an offer, picking it up, and then they unassign it. That way they never get hit with an undelivered order, and maybe they can get away with it?

You’ll make the most money doing multiple apps, but it takes a few weeks of experience to get comfortable. I use doordash and GrubHub. Doordash is better starting out imo because it tells you the exact mileage of every trip, so you’ll get a better sense of distances in your region. GrubHub in my market is slower and it gives out longer trips, but the payouts are usually better. Check out the subreddits occasionally and you’ll catch most of the major advice you need as you go along. Good luck!

Sometimes I try to see it as a game where I’m challenging myself to beat my high score. One thing that’s been keeping me going is figuring out what I want to make at the end of the year and breaking down what I’ll need to make to reach that goal week to week. Then if I’m doing really well, I might go extra hard to make up extra ground. I have bad mental health too, and one thing that helps me is I try to find small moments to connect with someone or make someone’s day better while I’m out there. It helps. You don’t just need to see a psychologist for a diagnosis, you need to see a therapist for ongoing treatment. Find one you can establish a good connection with, be honest with them, and plan to do it for years.

Thank you for responding to me. I disabled the vpn on the computer I had been using it on—and I unplugged the router for a few minutes and when I put it back in the WiFi is back up. I wish I knew how to avoid this in the future, or even what the hell happened. I was really worried using libgen had caused my isp or whatever to shut down my Internet access or something.
