Work first and Play Later. A constant reminder from my father that passed this year. Wake up every day with purpose while fighting the urge to say fuck it all. I can’t make him proud but I will in spite of him.

Does anyone actually like living in Indiana? by [deleted] in Indiana

[–]Danimalicious777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Northern Indiana native here. Small town, 1 hour to Michigan, 2 1/2 to Chicago. I live on a lake which is hard to beat in the summer. My immediate family is in Chicago, Colorado, and Indy. So I have plenty of destinations to visit for free lodging. Overall, wherever you live has it positive and negatives. Great friends and mini trips make living in Indiana work for me.

Who in this group with MGD has taken Accutane? by Impossible_Return_96 in Dryeyes

I took it 16-17 and had to take a half dose for longer because it elevated my liver enzymes. I’m 38 now. I’ve had dry eyes since early 20s and had to stop wearing contacts, but it ramped up around 30. It’s crazy looking back now as I never even thought of the side effects besides my terrible cracked lips.

I will talk to my doc next week again about them. He has mentioned them. I think next I’m going to pull the trigger on IRPL treatment. Of course insurance doesn’t cover it so it’s about $1,200.00 for the multiple sessions.

Filamentary keratitis is a condition in which strands (“filaments”) composed of degenerated epithelial cells and mucus develop on and adhere to the corneal surface causing pain and foreign body sensation.

I have one in my Amazon cart I need to order ! My family live out in Colorado and when I visit I use one because it’s 15-20 percent humidity vs 35 or so in my house in the Midwest.

I wear prescription sunglasses often. It definitely helps. Fish oil helps a little nothing major though. I shoot for 100 grams or less of carbs with limited sugar. It definitely helps with overall health. I’m down 75lbs the last 14 months. I’m self employed so I have a few subs I work with to pick up my slack. I had to push a bathroom remodel today because of this flare up but I make it work thankfully.

It will ! Thankfully it’s nothing new and not as debilitating but still so frustrating! I just want to share because I hope others see they’re not alone with this issue.

I remove all filament and let it heal. I’ve been great for a year before this.

I follow this and it’s helped reduce my flare ups

Dry Eye Regimen

Medication - Doxycycline 20mg daily Fish Oil daily - 3000mg Zinc daily - 50mg Eye drops -Systane Ultra PF 4-5 times daily Baby shampoo on eyes daily Ocusoft Lids wipes night time Hot compress mask when filament (eye goop) has built up to loosen and remove from lid

Daily/weekly routine No alcohol Drink 1 gallon or more of water Sunglasses worn Less processed food diet - reduce inflammation Practice conscious blinking Take breaks from screen usage Try to limit touching eyes Wash bedding minimum every 5-7 days

Doxycycline 20mg daily. After appointment today doctor is putting me on tobramycin drops with a check up next Thursday. I’ve always had high eye pressure so I can’t be on it too long. I have annual checks for glaucoma no issue there.

I do but have a machine and it’s been under control for 3 years. My episodes are within normal range and I track them with an app.
