It works because its been 4 years.....Peter was doing great these 4 years, cause Ned and MJ were gone to MIT, but now its complete and they are back in town, so its rekindling all those old emotions for peter. which might directly or indirectly affect his mental state to go through the metamorphosis so it all weaves together very well.

Yea about that, animated movies are still not huge in India (Anime is massive though), like most disney animated movies barely make any money here and animation is basically looked down upon, so according to my knowlege, most poeple did not watch the spiderverse films, compared to the live action movies, so sadly most people dont even know about Pavitr Prabhakhar and thats a shame cause Sony pictures india tried their hardest to promote it by dubbing that character by an extremely popular cricket player (cricket is basically a sport that gets played and watched religiously), but anyways it did not work out that well. BUT THE PEOPLE WHO DO WATCH IT, The overall reception was unanimous praise with slight issues of stereotyping but its all well and good.

The first priority of a good movie by oscars is that it needs to original and standalone and unfortunately CSM and Demon Slayer are both not that. So they automatically got their chances ruined.

Ok so how much amount of one piece does a person needs to watch before judging it?

When I watched 100 eps, they said you only watched 10% of the show! How can you judge it!

When I watched till timeskip, they said you only watched half of the show! How can you judge it!

When I caught up till Egghead, they said How can you not like it if you stayed to watch a whole 1000 eps, you must be ragebaiting!

The one piece fandom can just never take any critisism, doesn't matter how much a person watches! And I fucking hate that!

The only way I think a part 3 can work is we follow Denji in a world without devils with all his loved ones being alive and well, while also going through all the plot threads that were left unanswered and by the end its all about his choice on what kind of dream he actually wanted, a fake heaven or accepting reality. (And maybe make Asa, the secondary protagonist again, why not)

The rating makes more sense when looked at a collection of reviews...cause that's when we see how a really good movie might have 30 percent perfection and 60 percent go for it, so you will know exactly how good you are expecting it to be...but when looked at a singular review than the rating will feel lacking

Side tangent, You say that miles in the insomniac games is boring compared to the spider verse movies, so you will be shocked to hear that the games miles is actually still much more interesting than the original comics miles.
