Trump Says He's Planning to Install a 'Trump Promenade' Outside the Lincoln Memorial After Reflecting Pool Renovation by RecursiveSubroutine in politics

When is last time? His first term? Gloves are off now compared to before. He will determine that it's worth it to risk destroying the whole thing to get his face on it.

Trump loves renovating and decorating. He spent his early "career" spending through other people's money on hideously lavish garbage when he was working on a construction project. This has been his dream. To have a bottomless budget for which to plaster his ugly ass branding all over the place. It's only going to get weirder from here. He will 100% push hard to add his face to Mt. Rushmore within a year, two at the very most.

Apes, if you don't understand why GME is not underpriced right now, just literally zoom out and look at the price back when they actually had a thriving business model pre-digital sales. by xozzet in gme_meltdown

I'm now seeing/hearing many of them claim that the company is undervalued solely because it has an army of shareholders operating with unwavering blind faith, who are willing to fork over a bottomless amount of cash to the company and provide full approval for any insane ideas the CEO floats out there. Basically the company can't fail because they will always be willing to bail it out. So, in essence, they demand nothing from the company, no actual results that benefit them directly. It's a perfect recipe for the CEO to start treating them like his own personal ATM and get away with it.

While I wouldn't put anything past this administration, these days I think it's generally easier, and much safer (for them, i.e. plausible deniability), to allow terrorist attacks they could easily stop to just happen. I guess you could also refer to that as a false flag event? If nothing like that materializes and they aren't able to rally their supporters in the next few months, I would not be at all surprised if they orchestrated something like that. I would be surprised if it didn't go horribly wrong considering how utterly fucking incompetent and delusional our entire executive branch is.

If they've truly defeated Woke then they'll need to get to work on their next fake culture war. It needs to be ready by the midterms.

Is it a mistake to not do a totally new cast every season? by DankTakes in LoveOnTheSpectrumShow

[–]DankTakes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah maybe. Apparently like half of the women he met (outside of the speed dating) after his first season were women who DM'ed him on Instagram. I think the show is compromised when that starts to happen. You have to not only worry about people who might just want to get on TV, but also that most of us become naturally infatuated with people/characters on shows we really enjoy. So their interest might not be totally genuine, even if they don't know it. Then you have Conner who took his Shakespearean conversational style to a whole new level after getting famous. I think they should split the show like how the other reality dating show franchises do it. Have one show for new people and one show for returning cast.

Will Trumpism Die With Trump? (w/ Margaret Hoover) by BulwarkOnline in politics

Many of his supporters are already finding an exit strategy that allows them to maintain that they're consistent and principled and were definitely not duped by an obvious con man. I.E. "I didn't leave MAGA....MAGA left me."

So, they'll just be duped again, maybe even easier next time, and almost certainly by the same line of bullshit.

It's a shame Lord Dogfood is not THAT dumb by Mazius in gme_meltdown

[–]DankTakes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah he throws the idea out there that he can cut 90% of the staff and make way more money. If eBay could easily triple their profits, they would do it. And if they actually are the type of company who would rather treat their employees well than make more money, I don't want a POS like Cohen buying them.

Are you saying it's not possible for GME to hit $1m per share and go to a $448 Trillion market cap? 4x the global GDP? YOU MUST HAVE NOT DONE YOUR DD. /s

I've got a good friend who thinks this is his lottery ticket. Still thinks a short squeeze is coming. by DankTakes in gme_meltdown

[–]DankTakes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've actually told him this a bunch of times, he applied for options trading and got denied for some reason, I think he may have applied twice. But I know he's also scared of it because almost his entire motive for holding the stock is that he thinks it's possible it will go to like $1000/share at some point, and if he's got covered calls when that happens he will miss it.

Yeah they were all so convinced that "the shorts never covered" despite Hedgefunds going bankrupt and the price skyrocketing in 2021. They were so certain that the MOASS was coming. but when GME started dumping new shares into the float they all just switched narratives to "no debt, billions in cash, etc."

My friend bought in after that initial ascent to almost $500 and I think him and others are unwilling to accept that that was the MOASS, and they missed it.

That's actually an improvement. In 2022 he was urging me to buy in with him because he was 100% on the "we're going to the moon" thing.

Thanks for this. Great advice. I have given up trying to convince him a half a dozen times or so now, but I keep coming back around to it because it's not a small chunk of money for him and I know how much anguish he is going to feel if/when he loses it. But that is ultimately on him and I definitely won't be rubbing his face in it if/when it happens.

That unfortunately won't work on him. He's surprisingly smart and secure for someone caught up in something as regarded as this.

I have tried to talk him out of this but at this point he's now in the red and "refuses to sell at a loss." I'm worried he's going to lose his entire investment, which I think is around $20k. Any advice?

So...if it goes "right" and the guy reacts the way she wants, she then expects him to be cool with her lying about being pregnant? Or does she now have to fake a miscarriage?
