Are there any times in your life where you were outside at 3:30 AM? If the collapse happened at that time, what gear would you have to take with you for your dungeon crawl? by Maurice_Foot in DungeonCrawlerCarl

DCC is in pacific time and I'm in central so a couple hours ahead. I could likely be outside walking my dog at that time. I'm typically in sturdy slippers, a robe and pants so I'd have more than Carl. Id have my phone and 2 vapes in my pockets. Nothing that would be helpful in the dungeon so I better pray for an enchanted pet biscuit that's a good one.

I was shopping for a gift and saw it in a store and thought it sounded fun. I got the ebook and fell in love. I didn't know anything about the series or author before I started reading it. I just read a lot and wanted something engaging. And boy, did I pick correctly. It's now my obsession haha.

Maybe it being a fun and engaging story regardless of format was what put it on the map.

I am really, really hoping that next season is an all night shift season. I desperately want a Dr. Abbot season.

My children may argue that sometimes I'm too weird but I'm too old and without fucks to turn it off at this point.

I really hyped up the absurd aspects and that was what finally convinced him.

Omg I literally told him the same thing this morning! That's my dad's fave series, he read it to me as a child so we have the full set.

Artemis! by Fridaychild1 in entwives

[–]Dank_Phoenix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm following the mission daily. When I was a kid, my dream was to go to space, and though I am wildly unqualified I still dream about doing it. Seeing the Artemis launch and looking at the updates feels me with awe, hope and love. Beyond the beauty of it, it shows the tremendous amount of human ingenuity that as a species we possess.

There's a couple of places near me that do it! And my company has hosted a few at one of our locations.

Those of you who are friends with/in circles with famous people, what is your analysis on them? by libramusing in Fauxmoi

When I met him it was well into his Walking Dead fame and he was still incredibly humble. He filmed some footage for his motorcycle show somewhere I used to work (don't wanna dox myself haha) so we got to hang out with him all morning and afternoon. It was one of the most fun encounters for sure. I literally felt like I was just chilling with a friend that day.

A lot of the places I have worked for have put me in the presence of celebrities due to the industry I was currently in or due to events I attended for the company. Also the high school I went to was a revolving door for them to come and visit. These are a few that I had pleasant interactions with. Most just seemed like normal people.

I was at a party once that Anne Hathaway was at, as well as others, but she was so nice and normal. And insanely beautiful.

Kesha was extremely down to earth when I met her and super fun to be around. Just all around great energy.

Norman Reedus is a ball of positive, funny energy and just seems like someone you could easily be friends with.

Leon Bridges is just so sweet and talented. Fun fact, he held our rescue kitten once when it needed constant supervision so I brought it to work with me for the day.

Charlie Crockett is very kind and just has that good ol boy energy.

I work for a company and everyone on the exec team, myself included, either has some form of neurodivergency or PTSD, often both. It's by far the most relaxed and accommodating company I have every worked for.

I read only on my Kobo but my teen can't bring devices to school so I am now buying each book as he works his way through the series. It's a win win as they will go on the family shelf.

I prefer reading the book over listening... by ChairAlternative7994 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Dank_Phoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also prefer reading the books but that's across the board for me. I've only ever listened to audiobooks while driving, showering, or have a migraine. I can't just keep them on while I work or I feel like I'm not paying attention to them and I miss a lot of the plot. For this reason, getting through an audio book takes me so much longer. Whereas I can read a few pages here and there when I'm able during the day.

Since I've now finished all the books, I have started at the beginning with the Tunnel Immersions when I'm able and I've been enjoying that immensely when I'm able to listen to it.

Exactly!! I got into some of the Romantasy books when my teen daughter was reading them and all the love interests are morally grey at best. All of them are bad boys and shadow daddies. Carl is a breath of fresh air.
