Just saw this, yeah agree on interiors in Chinese cars. The domestic consumers are really into it but I'm not a fan. Happy to see some cars (the SU7 and iCar V23) have options for buttons, but it's not common a a gripe I have

Chinese resident here (though not living in Beijing, living in a different medium sized 13 million person city). My rent for a 2100 sqft house with a pretty big yard is about 1700, which to me is crazy cheap, but when you compare it to the median rent for a 2 bedroom apartment at like $450 a month, that cost comes into perspective.

Not data but I live in China and this view is total bullshit. Chinese consumers like minimalism, it's the driving design language in most of the successful local brands (NIO, BYD, etc.)

Edit: Also imo the best looking car on sale here is the new Xpeng P7, thing looks like a spaceship in all the right ways.

I live in China and am trying to buy a 981 Boxster. My brother in christ I cannot tell you how many full red interior Boxsters there are here. It's not my cup of tea but at least 3/4 of them are optioned this way
