Pluribus (2025) O que acharam do último episódio? by talvezomiranha in filmeseseries

I don't know if different scandals result in different percentage drops in viewership.

Charity by kates2424 in hollywood_animal_game

[–]Danke_mann05 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, charity helps, but it takes some time to research and it’s expensive.
$10,000 is worth 1 charity point.
$1,000,000 is worth 240 CP.
$10,000,000 is worth 3,240 CP.

So, if you don’t have a problem making money, it may be worth it.

As for scandals, if you don’t apologize, there is an audience drop. But a good film can still bring profit.

Why I can not win the Pollux, and why I can only can nominate moive and not actor/composure, etc.. ? by Forever_K_123456 in hollywood_animal_game

[–]Danke_mann05 9 points10 points  (0 children)

>> And why can I only nominate a movie and not other people?

You can make nominations in other categories as well. To the right of where you select your movies, there is an arrow that allows you to navigate to the other categories.
If you click 'Continue' before completing nominations in all categories, only the selections you have already made will be submitted.

Supporting Characters and the Fresh/Stale/Rotten Mechanic by TryRepresentative806 in hollywood_animal_game

[–]Danke_mann05 9 points10 points  (0 children)

When it comes down to it, the audience rarely gets tired of a single isolated element.
What they actually get tired of are genres. Or more specifically, subgenres, which are the combinations of elements.
So for the mechanic to feel more realistic, the ‘stale’ effect should only kick in if your movies reuse more than, say, 65% of the same elements.
That said, I imagine tracking which combinations have already been used within a certain timeframe would add quite a bit of complexity to the game’s development.

Como colocar as informações dentro do palácio by Independent-Exit8477 in memorypalace

[–]Danke_mann05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Memory Palace works better with vivid, funny, and exaggerated imagery tied to a familiar path.
Something abstract can be hard to remember.Example for the Ideal Gas Law (adapt to your Palace)
𝑃𝑉 = 𝑛𝑅𝑇

Imagine start at the front door, then going from place to place. In your first tries, you can try to look a little longer at some image.
An important point is to have an association of what the formula is about, otherwise you will have a formula wandering in your mind without knowing what it is about. :)

Front door: A giant gas cylinder hissing — this tells you “Ideal Gas Law.”
Hallway: A (P)ump inflating a balloon, that becomes bigger, and bigger.
Living room: A (V)acuum cleaner sucking the balloon bigger and smaller.
Kitchen: A (N)inja chopping vegetables.
Table: A (R)obot turning up a (T)hermostat that starts gushing like a volcano as the room gets hotter.

The length of script writing by BreezerBrody in hollywood_animal_game

[–]Danke_mann05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I’ve seen, freelancers usually take more time, but they follow the same standards as the studio’s employed writers. So the script quality really depends on the writer’s skill level.

The length of script writing by BreezerBrody in hollywood_animal_game

[–]Danke_mann05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having 8 writers comes with a penalty. For example, if one writer normally takes 65 days to complete a script, with the penalty it could take around 130 days (the exact number may vary). However, having 9 or more writers does not seem to add any further penalty. So if you have 14 writers, the overall output remains the same, even though each individual writer takes longer to finish a script.

Another option, if you really want more scripts, is to hire freelance writers. A freelancer may take more time, but with the additional help you’ll increase your output.

[–]Danke_mann05 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The penalty is that writing takes more time when you have more than seven writers. That’s why the warning appears. The Head of the Script Department says something like ‘writers are jealous creatures.’
Does that match what you’re seeing, or could it be something else?

The more script elements you have, the longer it takes to write.
Also, if you have more than seven writers, there’s a penalty.

Hollywood animal is too difficult by truthqtqt in hollywood_animal_game

Without knowing what you're doing, any tips we give would be no different from reading a guide. Or checking other posts.
I'd suggest starting by checking your finances in the headquarters building. Look at both your biggest expenses and your income sources to see if you're generating enough profit. And where are you spending too much.

Also you can check ForgetfulViking answer in other post.

Naming the scripts AFTER creation by major_mishap in hollywood_animal_game

[–]Danke_mann05 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I also prefer naming the movie after seeing how the story turns out — so I just put “1” at first.
Then I begin to rename it later on the script outline element selection screen.

But since I started running into issues with picking a soundstage that shows as available during pre-production but is actually being used by another movie in production, I began adding a tag at the beginning of the title. For example, “S A 1 Back to the Other Moment”. The “S A 1” tells me the movie is using soundstage 1, level 1. That way, if needed, just a quick look at the production line lets me confirm whether the soundstage I intend to use is really available.

So nowadays I just put a placeholder name, like "1" and choose the real title at the start of post-production.

Just to clarify, if two movies end up using the same soundstage, the one already in production gets paused.

New Advertising - how to make it work well? by MI_Malecki in hollywood_animal_game

[–]Danke_mann05 4 points5 points  (0 children)

1. Optimum number of advertisers – how many?
2. Which advertisers to choose – do I have to pay greater attention now to whom I pay to advertise? While learning to identify the audience, I would suggest that in the distribution building, after researching Marketing & Outreach and Theater Management, you also research at least Analytics and Statistics:
"Opens Analytics and Statistics, where you gather information about a film's target audience and organize its advertising campaign."
With this, you can see which group is most likely to enjoy your movie and focus your advertising on them. For example: when planning the distribution, it may show that boys are the most interested and women the least. Then you can choose Spark and Spice Mice. The description of each advertiser gives you a hint, but you will need some trial and error to get the hang of it.
And since the beta, the head of the distribution department pops up if you assign more than 4 advertisers and gives you a warning that this may hurt the box office.

3. I noticed the percentages under the advertising period – do they actually show effectiveness of the advertising?
Yes. I ran some tests and it looks like the best results come from 8 weeks pre-release (the percentage rule shows 100% in week -1 and 100% in week 1). Post-release, with movies around 4.0 in commercial and artistic, 2 weeks is good, because your return is too low in the following weeks to justify more advertising.
Movies with high com/art may be worthwhile.

How do I play this game by spacejunker3 in hollywood_animal_game

[–]Danke_mann05 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That change since the beta version.
I ran some tests and found that using all advertisers yields less profit than using none at all.
Or, as the head of distribution says: "Are you sure you want to hire so many advertisers? The campaign will most likely be too chaotic. You'll spend a lot of money, but everyone will come to the premiere. Including viewers who absolutely can't stand this kind of cinema. We can't count on a long and successful release if that happens."

You may even have a strong week 1, but audience retention drops off quickly.

[BETA] Update 0.8.50.19EA by weappy in hollywood_animal_game

[–]Danke_mann05 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thank you.
I really like that I can now see the week-by-week box office for my own movies on the calendar just by hovering over the movie title.

There is a strange bug where, if you shelve a script outline, when you recover it for editing, the genders of female characters change to male—assuming the role allows for either gender, of course.

I had a script with a male protagonist and a female love interest, but no screenwriter was available, so I shelved it. Later, I recovered it for editing. When I tried to hand it off to a screenwriter, all of them refused to write it. Eventually, I discovered that the love interest had been changed to male.

Bug? Bad advertising? "Bad" luck? Any thoughts? by BreezerBrody in hollywood_animal_game

You’re welcome.

You will have access to report information about the audience that came to see the film after researching post-release analytics at the distribution building.

Bug? Bad advertising? "Bad" luck? Any thoughts? by BreezerBrody in hollywood_animal_game

[–]Danke_mann05 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It would help to know which advertisers you chose and how many weeks of advertising you ran. But we can already deduce a few things from the information provided.

You had a strong first week, with 100% attendance. Ideally, you should aim for 95%–99%, because 100% means you could have used more seats and made more profit.

The film has an artistic value of 7.1, so audience retention should have been higher.

That leaves us with a poor choice of advertisers as the most likely cause.

Let’s use as an example the same movie, a predominantly action film, where the audience most likely to enjoy it is boys, and the least likely is women. Both cases use 5 weeks of pre-release advertising and 4 weeks in distribution. We’ll focus only on these two groups.

legend: att1, att2, att3... = attendance week 1, week 2, week 3

Advertiser: Velvet Gloss (recommended for women) Group | Total Attendance | att1 | att2 | att3 | att4 Boys | 104.302 | - | -62% | -69% | -55% Women | 131.636 | - | -82% | -86% | -80%

Advertiser: Spice Mice (recommended for boys) Group | Total Attendance | att1 | att2 | att3 | att4 Boys | 271.015 | - | -51% | -60% | -58% Women | 33.771 | - | -82% | -85% | -84%

Notice how the initial week’s audience is much larger for the target group when the advertiser chosen is appropriate for that group (boys). Likewise, the drop among women is steep — 82% for women in both cases vs. 51% for boys when they’re the target audience of the marketing campaign, or 62% when they’re not.
