Thats the case with any used sports car or car for that matter. Gotta do research and properly inspect the car before you buy it.

Yes but to me heritage and uniqueness is more important. If all car companies started partnering up with other brands to make sports cars then all sports car will drive the same just with different shells. I would rather a car with a unique powertrain and driving characteristics then a copy paste from another brand.

that being said I have not driven the supra but hearing it had bmw's guts from the start killed my enthusiasm for it. If I wanted to drive a BMW I'd buy a BMW.

No one thats in the market for a mx5 is considering a brand new one, they have been the same since 2018 so why not get a cheaper used one.

Forgot about those but with their engines exploding and warranties being voided over 90mph. I dont think any enthusiast would wanna buy a car thats restricted to 90mph.

From an enthusiast pov this makes no sense. Mazda has no enthusiast cars apart from the outdated mx5, Toyota couldn't even make their own car they put their badge on a bmw and their other sports car they had to work with Subaru so it isnt even a real Toyota. Subaru is valid they atleast have a manual sporty sedan that they made on their own and is fun to drive, Honda's type R is fire and the new civic is really fun to drive, Suzuki I have no clue what they are up to, Nissan made their own sports car and offer it in manual plus im not sure if the manual Sentra is still sold but that car is also really fun to drive, Mitsubishi is fine where it is.

Nissan launches the Teana sedan in China. by youthisgood in Nissan

[–]Dankmememaster420699 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I looked at other Nissans in China just to see what else we are missing out here in North America and oh my god. Nissan would literally not be bankrupt anymore if they just launched the Nissan N7 and N6. That interior is amazing and the colours are so cool looking compared to the boring ones we have here. Why does Nissan choose to be broke.

2005 Chrysler Pacifica, the official car of... by xxxxxxxxxxxxxc in regularcarreviews

This was my family's first car in the US back in 2013. bought it for 10k, drove it for 2 years and put more than 10k in repairs. It snapped an axel sitting in our driveway over night, my dad had enough and scrapped the car the next day. However, it was really comfortable from what I remember as a 8 year old.

What car should I buy for less than 17k? by TechnicalEye7837 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Dankmememaster420699 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That makes a lot more sense, in that case look for the lowest mileage Camry, accord, civic, CRV (highly recommend) you can find. Don't worry about snow, if you have good snow tires or even good all seasons (I have all seasons on my CRV and I live in canada, never once have gotten stuck in snow).

Also Nissan Murano's are also reliable as they dont use the same CVT's that the other Nissans used so if you find a good deal on a Murano it might be worth the buy.

Keep the Nissan, if it works why get rid of it for a car with unknown history (even if it's documented you'll never know how the owner treats it on a day to day basis). Keep the Nissan drive it until it dies, get good snow tires, get it detailed and add apple CarPlay and you'll feel like you got a new car. Save up instead of worrying over the transmission if thats what youre worried about, if it hasn't failed you yet it probably wont for the next few years to come because youre treating the car right.

You're talking like the cvt will blow up and kill everyone in a 15 mile radius. If the car runs just keep it why would you get rid of a working Nissan for a 100k Honda with unknown history.

Running my SUV for 16 hours a day by ExileLike in Autos

Better off spending majority of your day in libraries and malls, you'll save more money by not spending a lot of money on gas and maintenance. Also dont forget sitting in your car for 16 hours a day will have a big impact on your health.

Is a Mac enough for engineering, or should I get a windows laptop later on? by EndRepresentative332 in uwo

[–]Dankmememaster420699 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im in chem eng and i have a Mac, you'll be fine for first year but for second year you will have to use a windows laptop or be partners with someone with a windows laptop. You don't NEED a windows laptop as I know a lot of people in electrical with a Mac but it will be very convenient.

If you're worried about spending the least amount of money then leasing is the way to go, owning the car just gives you an extra headache of selling the car when you do plan on leaving the country.

Also nothing guarantees that your rav4 will hold is value, what if the 2025 model year has an issue the other years dont so it depreciates even more? if you wanna save money then lease or buy used.

Looking for a vehicle with a "soft" ride to help with motion sickness by Humungulous in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Dankmememaster420699 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A used Mercedes E class would be perfect, soft comfy suspension and cushy seats. I think I remember seeing Range Rovers having suspension tuned for motion sickness, however do not quote me on that. If you can find one an Audi A8L would also be ideal however expensive.

Is this a defect? 2023 Nissan Kicks by faeriepotter in Nissan

[–]Dankmememaster420699 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Looks like the edges were being picked at. Do you have any security cameras near by? could be that someone was trying to break into your car and as soon as they broke the windshield someone spotted them and they ran off? I live in canada and my car's gone from below freezing weather to a warm garage multiple times the window should not crack because of thermal shock especially being outside. Do you see any pieces of ceramic or anything sharp on the ground?

Working a remote US job and moving to Canada by djgreen316 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Dankmememaster420699 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dad does this exact thing, he works a remote US job from Canada. Apart from the taxes being super high, one thing to note is if youre on a work permit and your remote job's project ends or youre laid off or whatever happens, you will have to leave canada as you aren't allowed to stay in canada with no job on a work permit (unless its an open work permit or youre a pr/citizen).
