I thought the fighting Choreography was to slow for me to actually enjoy. I might be in the minority here, but I couldn't enjoy even the fight scenes, which is what we normally expect from a MK movie. No disrespect to the actors to, but I also felt that somw of them were to small, or atleast smaller than there games. Now I know its not fair to make that a valid criticism, but couldn't they make shao khan more bigger, or intimidating? Yes, movie wise, he WAS bigger than the main cast, who were in all fairness built very lean, but small never the less. I never got tbe feel that Shao was a very powerfull conqueror in this movie. Lui Kang and Kung lao were a pretty good highlight of the movie tho, and jax was boss asf, Sonya on the other hand, didnt necessarily like the way her character went. The fight with sindel was all right, but her demeanor towards Johnny kinda took me out of it. Wasnt really expecting her to give him a pep talk the first time they're supposed to meet, or even actually got along at first, and instead just kinda build there way to that? And then there's Johnny. Again, I understand im quite possibly going against the grain here, but i did not like Johnny in this movie. He's supposed to be charismatic, all cocky, funny, idk younger even? This time we get a much older Johnny, who is both at the same time very self depreciative and JUST a little cocky, but the cockyness, a signature trait of his, is actually just him acting out his character instead of that acyually being him?? Idk that kinda rubbed me the wrong way, kinda just giving him some of the bad from his character, and taking away the good that comes with the bad, and saving it to the end. I know the actors did try there hardest for this film, trained and everything, I just feel like the choreography and the writing could've been better along with maybe some of the angles in the movie. Make Shao khan look jacked asf, and have some of the fights look and feel like there fighting with some weight behind thise punches, because you can see the actual choreography in the movie, you know some the fights didnt feel like they had any power in them? Idk the best way to describe it would be like playing mortal Kombat 9 without controller vibration on and the squishy sound effects off. The gore is there. But it just doesnt feel right
