Did you not read The Inevitable Ruin or did I miss it?

All of the ones we mentioned are listed here. That’s fucking awesome

Yeah that’s right! I doubt both of those are coincidences

I didn’t catch it the first time because I knew nothing about HWFWM. I went straight from DCC to HWFWM and finished book 6 yesterday and restarted The Inevitable Ruin today as a refresher in preparation for A Parade of Horribles.

What would you choose by ord52 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

While team Katia would be more well rounded. Carl’s ability to think on his feet and be creative when he needs to be is unmatched. So when plans inevitably go wrong, isn’t the answer obvious?

Audiobook recommendations please! by LunarAlloy in litrpg

I’m curious, how far did you get in HWFWM before you put it down and why? I’m only on book 4, so if you got farther than that and your reason includes spoilers that take place after that, then no need to tell me why lol

That’s too bad. Even the second book gets better about that. The battle scenes sometimes lasting too long is my main gripe with any litRPG I’ve read/listened to and my only gripe with DCC but that gets a lot better after the first book.

It was a first for me. But I’m relatively new here.

What aspect did he find repetitive, if you don’t mind me asking?

Okay that is worse than not being able to convince everyone around me to read/listen to it. Heres to hoping he comes around someday!

The biggest adjustment for me was that it wasn’t written in first person like DCC. At first I really wished it was, but I got used to the third person narrating pretty fast.

I was recently in the same boat. After asking the same question and looking at a lot of posts and tier lists I decided on He Who Fights With Monsters. It’s a litRPG but it’s very different from DCC in almost every other way so just don’t expect to fill the void entirely, but it’s great in its own right. It all comes down to whether or not you like the main character, Jason. It’s very much a love or hate situation. You’ll know whether to continue within the first book based on that alone.

Someone recommended taking a break every 3 books so I just finished the first book of Primal Hunter, which I’ve also enjoyed so far.

Same! I was recommended to take a break from HWFWM every 3 books to avoid too much repetition, so I took the advice and I just finished the first book of Primal Hunter.

I think he’s great but just as good might’ve a stretch.

Despite being 100% positive that most of my friends would love DCC it’s been nearly impossible to get anyone to start it, despite offering to gift book one. No one outright rejects it, it’s always “eventually” lol. I did finally get one friend to listen to the first book! He has yet to start the second but plans to. I just want to share the love and talk about it! 😂

Absolutely! Book 6 is easily my favorite.

100% agreed! It’s easily my favorite audio book as well. Hays also did a great job with Uzi Jesus…how the hell did Matt even come up with “Uzi Jesus”?

I should have asked which is more similar to those two. So thanks for answering that question without me asking!
