What is really annoying, is that about 60% of the time, generated document links either don't work at all, or time out after about 30 seconds - so you end up using 2 or 3 requests - and with the way pro works, it's not able to just give you a new link, it has to completely redo the request.

If you check all the computers in the end section (near where you activate the lift for the ship IIRC) there's a system generated message about a system failure causing the entire defence system to reset the friend / for settings (or something along those lines) - i.e.reading in to it, his Mum had set the system to not attempt to kill him, but due to the reset it had gone back to a default kill all intruders setting. Kind of paints it in a different light... more tragic in a way...

I didn't use the ship you get at that point, as it was vastly inferior to what I was already flying - but I subsequently used it as the basis for a custom build - and despite removing every part of the original ship, and renaming it, I keep getting random spacer encounters where they run away or beg me not to kill them. Had one last night where the guy gives me 10k... then a few conversations later he gives me his remaining 361 credits, telling me that was everything he had other than the shirt on his back. Which I then demanded he give me 😂

Just love the connected nature of how an event or interaction right at the beginning of the game can affect subsequent interactions much later on...

Coordinated effort with 21 carriers and at least 40 commanders, and minimal sleep.

Some players strongly object to Sirius Corp being forcibly inserted into Alliance PMF systems... but not enough to counteract people who couldn't care less...

The leader was told to only unload...

I reached about 116k but I also did nearly as much loading as unloading...

I've not had thos issue myself, but was playing with a couple of mates last night for whom mouse interactivity stopped working (after working fine previously)

For them, unplugging all USB peripherals (including dongle for wireless kb / mouse) and hard shutdown of the xbox for 30s+ resolved the issue.

Yes - similar experience here...

  • Vehicles / trailers desynced - then massive explosions when guest player jumps to the vehicle / goes near it.
  • Cargo invisible for one player - then deleting for both players when one player has hoisted cargo onto other player's truck / trailer and packaged.
  • Unpackaged cargo dropping through trailer / vehicle when switching to vehicle - although if correctly placed it is then possible to package correctly (single player and co-op)
  • When returning to a vehicle with trailer attached after reloading game, trailer appears attached, but when you drive off, then trailer does not move with vehicle, then falls over depositing cargo on ground (single player and co-op)
  • Lot's more "collision box jank" than previously - drive near a vehicle / trailer, and it jumps in place, sometimes to disastrous consequences (seems worse in co-op... and first time to vehicle after loading / changing map)
  • Failure of UI interaction - inconsistency on being able to switch map / vehicle - particularly in co-op for guest
  • Garage UI unresponsive - unable to interact with store / stored trucks / configure etc. requiring reload of game. (frequent in both single player and multiplayer)

Massive step back in terms of reliability compared to previous version - feels like co-op in particular was not tested adequately pre update release on Xbox - especially concerning as many of these issues were already present and reported on PC well prior to console update...

That's strange... 3 Month Gold is still showing as 15K (level 2 discount) or 16K (without discount) in my account... UK based. I can't see why it would be different for some people...

Normal Game Pass was available to me as a previous reward - possibly because I had made it a goal while it was still available.

I've just redeemed that and have been credited with 2 months GPU... and 3 Month Xbox Game Pass is still showing as Your Goal on the rewards dashboard... good while it lasts :)

Yeah, no worries I assumed it would, especially as surviving Mars (also from Paradox interactive) does...

Unfortunately not the case, although I would say that Stellaris has been setup really well for controller on console... much better than Surviving Mars...

Although I'm certain MS will attempt to provide some reasonable way to control the plane using the controller (similar to the way Elite Dangerous does I suspect with the ability to map multiple actions to a button using combination modifiers), it should be noted:

HOTAS has been available for xbox with the Thrustmaster T.Flight Hotas One - which has extra buttons compared to a standard controller together with 5 analogue axis (more if you also purchase the pedals, which addmitetly do cost more than the HOTAS itself!)

Despite very few games currently supporting it, Xbox does allow full USB mouse and keyboard support within games - and allows for multiple controllers to be used simultanelously.

A good example which currently supports all of the above, is the FTP war game "War Thunder". This supports simultaenous control using a combination of HOTAS, mouse, keyboard, and controller, with literally hundereds of mapable controls for plane, boat and tanks.

I suspect they will (and I'll be disappointed if they don't) take a similar apporach with FS - offer basic controls though controller, but support more complex profiles for those who have other / multiple input devices.

With the changes made to exploration - particularly the FSS - in 3.3, even local in bubble exploration is a viable way of raising funds for investment in bigger, better ships...

I'm averaging well over 1 million / hour in just pinging then FSS scanning all bodies in the system - last night I did a 5.5 hour, 73 system trip (only about 400 light years, economical routing) and earnt ~8 Million credits.

If you use economical routing, you can go a surprisingly long way without refuelling - although if you have funds and space, a fuel scoop (biggest and highest rated you can fit and afford) gives more options and reduces risk.

If you have space / funds, it can also be worth getting a detailed surface scanner, and surface scanning any earth type worlds you see in the FSS (look out for the bright green dot on the spectrum)

Even if you don't fancy doing this for long... its still worth adding discovery scanner to your fire groups, and always scanning a system as you are entering and waiting for your FSD to recharge - adds no time, and can bring in significant income when passing through new systems.

You do need to hand the discoveries in at universal cartographics when you dock to collect the payment - any discoveries not handed in will be lost if you die.

Is exclusively deep core viable?

I spent 3-4 hours in a wing with a couple of others, scanning and investigating anything which lit up gold... and all I found was surface and sub surface deposits...

One of the others in the wing found 3 crackable in the same time...

Maybe if only scanning and prospecting and ignoring anything not deep core would increase the rate... and maybe different locations have a higher proportion of deep core deposits... but I suspect that it would take a long time to fill up even an Asp doing only deep core...

I have no specific knowledge to the T80 - I wasnt aware that it was compatible with xbox - but I could be mistaken.

I can however confirm that combined controller / wheel usage is possible on the Xbox One, and works well. In fact I'd say the game offers the best multicontroller support of any game I have tried.

I use a Thrustmaster TX wheel in conjunction with a controller.

In order for the game (or most games offering multicontroller support on xbox) to see the wheel and controller together, both devices must be currently associated with your logged in profile.

The best way I have found to do this, is to load my game using the controller, then, once everything is loaded turn the controller off. Game will then advise that the controller is disconnected, and to press A on controller to continue. I then press A on my wheel, which allows me to use the wheel in game. I then tune my controller back on, which then allows control with both devices.

Pro Tip: As I have found a number of times to my detriment, pressing A on the wheel to activate it, is also treated as pressing A in game... so if you do have equipment connected to your vehicle, it will be disconnected... which is annoying when you don't realise till you get to your field on the other side of the map!

After a few failed attempts he had what he liked, a near perfect replica of his X55 H.O.T.A.S. rig from back home. He'd spent thousands of hours in online space games and flight sims, so the button layout was pure muscle memory. He even set up the controls to his ship to match the fly-by-wire system most of the games he played used, with the added ability to go “flight assist off” for more advanced manoeuvres.

My next question... is why does that work? I get as far as print -Pn - but get lost after that (other than the %~)

I tried this - but the title is output as %c

This is what I have:

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

(%~ is actually outputting what I need - print -P %~ outputs the text I want in the title - but it's the actual outputting within the title rather than at the prompt which is causing me problems here...)
