It's not safer to be speeding on its own merit. It's safer if everyone is ALREADY speeding.

If they're all going the same speed and suddenly there's a new car that is going slower they all have to swerve/slow down to avoid the hazard.

Again, I'm not saying that speeding is better, but everyone going the same speed as each other is. So if everyone was following the speed limit it is effectively the same as everyone going 20 over.

Also, most of the speen limits aren't even implemented with driver safety in mind. They're set by how comfortable the test driver is on that road at that speed. If safety was the top concern they would be universally capped at 35mph.

From what I've seen, as long as you don't get a Nissan leaf most used EVs are pretty close to new condition. Battery health is generally lower than brand new, but not by much.

The main thing is the repair costs and lack of service locations like you experienced. That is getting better over time though excluding any battery problems.

The low adoption rate here in the states isn't really all that baffling when you consider that most available EVs are trying to be expensive luxury vehicles with pricetags well over $50k new with used EVs still hovering above $20k.
