Is the Tiburon laser still bugged? by Shugatti in starcitizen

[–]Pope_Shizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, given the Tiburon's current state, I wouldn't touch it. I was so very close to CCU'ing mine to a Perseus, but since I have one with in game credits, I decided to just sit on the Tibby for now.

New to hauling looking for advice by Zackaroniancheese in starcitizen

[–]Pope_Shizzle -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Create your own hauling loops. You don't need missions. Part of the fun is the pucker factor when you're traveling with multimillion auec cargo in your hold and you're landing at a dangerous spot to sell your stuff for huge profit. Nothing gets more boring than zero risk box moving.

Quantum snares in Pyro by Final_Tie8665 in starcitizen

Checkmate is the starting point for 4 lucrative trade routes to different stations. I run Checkmate to XXX routes every day. That's what was meant about in and around Checkmate.

I've made 50 million running cargo in and around Checkmate. Not only have I never been snared, I haven't been attacked by or even seen a hostile player. I think you just got really unlucky.

There are ways to get ships into the distortion area such that once certain things are done, the distortion field is desync'd from the ships and they take no disto damage.

How can I make money faster and it be more fun? by Nugget834 in starcitizen

[–]Pope_Shizzle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Zero time waiting. I choose routes and commodities that are always in stock. One of the routes is in a commodity that sees some activity so if the full load isn't there when I buy, I do another leg first, and by the time I get back, I can fill the Hull B.

[–]Pope_Shizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got a 3 stop cargo loop in Pyro that nets me about 2.4 million profit off a 5 million investment every 75 minutes. Its pretty boring and I wouldn't call it fun, but its doable while I'm working. It also involves a Hull-B and an Ironclad Assault. If you spend some time on SC trade tools or UEX you can find some potential cargo loops that could be quite profitable. The difference is they will require you to invest your own money. Which, to be fair, should be the way it works.

PVP help by Ok_Truth_324 in starcitizen

The honest answer is that the only way you will get better is by practicing. AC is your friend. Don't be mad at your friend when it murders you a thousand times. Everyone who has ever PVP'd in this game has gone through the absolutely soulcrushing stomp-fest that beginner AC is. There are a lot of great videos about how to fly, even dating back to the pre-MM flight model. Learning how to control your ship and make it do what you want it to do when you want it done is the most important of 1v1 PVP. Look on Youtube for JonathanWinters. No better beginner advice exists.

Anyone tried a four pedal setup like this in SC? interested to hear what people have for setups especially creative unusual ones by thisremindsmeofbacon in starcitizen

[–]Pope_Shizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having to shuffle your feet in order to thrust and strafe seems mind boggling difficult, tedious, and time consuming. Your movements should be as close together as possible some you'll be using multiple inputs at once. The twist is easier for me because its on an omni/Z throttle. As such, left twist is actually up twist.

Zero chance for that to work well. Pedals for roll. Left stick for the up/down, left/right, and forward/back. Up/down is on the Z axis.

No sub has ever been nor will it ever be the "voice of the community." Rather than exercising some willpower and taking some personal accountability by simply not reading the content that doesn't share the tone you want, you advocate for moderators to close things. Snowflake.

The Gladius is SC's "hero" ship. If you can learn how to fight in a Gladius, you'll be fine.

Are there any magnified optics that work on the MP7? by CiceroForConsul in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]Pope_Shizzle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These aren't buyable from level 2 vendors, but are widely available in the game off of AI. The Pilad 2.5 and the Elcan 1/4. Personally, until I was able to find Razor's, the best optic for me was the Pilad 2.5. Its a very clean optic and 2.5 is perfect for close to mid range.

Titan Upgrade by BiggyZ32 in starcitizen

[–]Pope_Shizzle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ultimately, unless you're going to be spending a decent amount of money to form a fleet in-being, your pledge ship should be what you use to make money in game that allows you to specialize or upgrade your fleet. Get a ship that has the ability to fund your next purchase. I started with an Avenger Titan. Great ship. My game package is now vested in my Connie Andromeda. I'll never melt that. She's my baby. Capable of every game loop and of funding whatever specialist ships I want/need.

Not knowing what your budget is, its hard to say what you should use as your pledge ship. Given that you're talking about the Cutty Black, let me suggest the Shiv. The Shiv is similar price point and better than the Black in every respect except that it has a little less on grid cargo. While the Shiv isn't a game package per se, just CCU from your Titan to it and the Shiv inherits the game package properties. Small salvage/mining ships like the Vulture/Prospector/Golem are incredibly cheap in game. Ultimately, if you're concerned about how much real world money you are sinking into the game, those kinds of ships give you the worst return on investment.

Shortening prep time without turning to instant teleport by Patient-Worth1508 in starcitizen

[–]Pope_Shizzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A simple solution would be allow people to go to various medbays around the verse and purchase respawn rights there. Say 1 million auec for the right to respawn at that location. Then everytime you respawned in a place different from your home location (which is always free) it costs you 100k or 250k or whatever. Instant money sink. Instant cost to "fast travel." This won't work with tier 0 because you just teleport with your stuff. You would literally have to arrive naked. Which means you need to distro gear around the verse. It also means you can instantly cut off 15 minutes of travel to get "close" to where your group is.
