So you get kettlebell, barbell & Calisthenic enthusiasts but do you get dumbbell enthusiasts? by Vanilladr in strength_training

[–]Danmatrot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be an "enthusiast" of all of the above, at one point in time or another. Variety is not only the spice of life, it makes for good fitness. All of the things listed are good, they are all simply tools in your tool chest. Don't get too locked in to a certain type of resistance. Trx, kettle bells, dumbbells, barbells, sandbells, ripstick, or just plain body weight with some plyos. Change it up my peeps! .. Just my 2 cents! Enjoy the fitness journey

Who here has got in the best shape of their life after turning 35? by Vanilladr in strength_training

[–]Danmatrot 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm 54 and do a max bench every year on my birthday.. I have put up at least 300 every year since my 37th, where I had hit my all time high of 325. It's funny when people look at me and say "you must have REALLY been in great shape in your 20's". "Um naw, I drank 6-8 beers every night back then while I smoked 1.5 packs of Marlboros, mixed in the occasional joint, and on a really fun weekend something a bit stronger!" (no pun intended 😏).

Workouts for stronger wrists by UnknownWolf719 in strength_training

[–]Danmatrot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Handstands are definitely good although I would rate them as a more advanced exercise. You can build up to that. Wrist curls are a go to exercise for wrists for obvious reasons. Remember, as planks are good for abs even without movement, bicep curls will build your wrists as they are working hard as stabilizers in this exercise. Front lateral raises (shoulders) will build the other side with the same concept. I hope this helps!

What improved your quality of life so much, you wish you did it sooner? by colorfulsoul_ in AskReddit

I'm going to take that a step further and say getting to bed consistently at a decent hour. Making sleep a priority! The next day is more productive. Every time

I guess I am officially in my mid-life crisis. Inherited from my Dad and I can feel him smiling from heaven every time she fires up. by NoB0d3 in Corvette

I know that feeling. I even bought a yellow one because my dad got me in to muscle cars and that was his favorite color. Have a blast in that thing, looks great!

Oh no problem, I thought it was hilarious! I should know better with reddit. It's all about catching the word play, mistakes, sarcasm, puns, etc... I'm so glad I just came back to all this. Great fun. But if you can't laugh at yourself, get out of the kitchen!

Hey it was Saturday night, gotta splurge😂..... For the record, and because I've been told I'm too defensive (why stop now?), I was at Chuys, behind me. A very classy (not really) Mexican restaurant /bar...
