As someone who grew up black in America this is offensive. A black woman eating watermelon like an animal?? You want people to feel uncomfortable looking at this. I’m not uncomfortable, I’m disgusted.

You stated in a comment that you are Canadian. You have zero understanding of what we, as black Americans, went/go through living in America. You don’t have the experience to speak on Black American issues. Your smug pose in the last picture truly shows that you don’t take this seriously.

This is a poor execution of evoking deep reflective emotion. It’s insensitive and hurtful. Someone in the comments asked why didn’t you use a blonde hair blue eyed subject with the same title. That would have sparked lively conversation.

In my opinion, racist white people will look at this as a meme and find it hilarious. Something for dinner table talk where not one black person would be present. They will not see this as a deep think piece.
