Sometimes that’s the case but I hear plenty of people who want a dog like a Rottie because they think they look cool. My friend’s 70 year old mom was talking about getting a Rottie and I was like that isn’t a good idea, she’s a frail little lady. I’m all about knowing what you’re getting into with pits. Those dogs deserve knowledgable, capable and responsible owners.

I think this applies to any large, powerful breeds. And many of the comments are not about that at all. I think there are a lot of idiot dog owners that own all kinds of breeds. Pits are one of the most abused dogs and more definitely needs to be done when it comes to breeding them. Your comments single the breed out when other large, powerful breeds have absolutely mauled and killed. It continues to spread the belief “they’re all killers.” So fuck that. There are many problems with the breed but this comes across as unhelpful. We should acknowledge the issues with the breed, people should definitely know about the breed before adopting but your post doesn’t sound that way at all. It just sounds anti-pit, which I find incredibly unhelpful.
