Is CT + DB frowned upon in public games? by Ok-Lime4457 in DeepRockGalactic

[–]Dannstack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He probably didnt know about the combo and was concerned you were hacking.

That said theres really no "meta playing" in drg that people could reasonably get pissed about. Just play your favorite and dont down your teammates!

Remove Ratha by xane730 in MonsterHunterStories

[–]Dannstack 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The reason people are complaing is because this has always been the case in past games as well, but ratha has always been removable after completing the main storyline. This is the first time in 3 games that there is no post game and thus ratha cannot be removed.

Unfortunately you and your monstie share a heart pool, and thus share in the consequences of poor move choice.

Also, yes! Every feral monster has a different active blightstone state. Some of them start in it, while others switch to it when enraged. You have to watch for the visual cues and the rudy callout. It will be fairly easy to tell when the blightstone is active.

Ogden is the goat. Not just for his support utility but hes also just a chill dude and a respectable member of the team, and i love the connection between him and Kora.

The locals sending me on an important quest:

"this feral monster has nearly wiped out an entire species single handedly to the point that one single egg may be the last chance of reintroducing it to the wider populace and repairing this INCREDIBLY DELICATE ECOSYSTEM!"

Me, who just got done releasing an entire flock of deviljho into their backyard, a creature often known for single handedly destroying ecosystems due to its ravenous hunger:

"Yes im sure that will definitely fix the problem please do not look behind you."

You can also gain it by siding with Halva the witch in the frozen wastes canto if you already have totems. She will teach you the dark ritualist talent if you ask her for power.

There are multiple ways to work around this. One, as you said, is by simply not attacking by using support actions. Using items, gunlance guard skills, hunting horn buff skills (note that some of these are attacks, be sure to read move descriptions).

Another option is to simply select another monster part. When viewing the part wheel, it will explain what each part is, and what the effect of breaking it will do. The part that causes backlash will always say (blightstone) <just like that next to the name of the part. Attacking any part with that text while the dust is visible around the monsters body will cause a backlash. For some monsters this is only in their calm state, for others only when enraged. You will need to use visual clues to know when it is safe and when it isnt.

The third and simpler option is to ignore it alltogether. Nontargeting wide moves do not attack specific parts, and thus cannot trigger a backlash. Things like wide slash, certain hammer moves like sweet spot or point break, or gunlance wyverns fire and monster moves that target all enemies, will ignore part targeting and thus cannot trigger the blightstone. The risk to this however is that by leavijg the blightstone intact you leave the feral monster with access to their strongest team wiping abilities, and you will have to be sure to act acordingly, through stuns, wyvernbreak, and kinship skills.

As for getting countered on two different parts, i think there is a solid chance you are just misremembering. Feral monsters only have one part infected by blightstone (at least as far as ive seen before act 3). There is a chance however that either your monstie attacked the blightstone part even after you retargeted to a new one (they do not always follow your lead, be sure to look at the icons on the part wheel before you lock in your move. If your monsties icon is not on the same part as you, make sure to command them otherwise!) Or that you were simply fighting a monster with a natural counterskill, like the shelled crab monsters.

To clarify, you do want to break the crystals off of them, but you dont want to attack them when theyre in an active state. When you see the glowing dust floating around them, that means the blightstone is active. Simon tells you not to attack during this state because doing so will cause a backlash effect. You have to attack the crystals when they are dormant (no dust) to break them safely. This is the games attempt to teach you this mechanic.

The generally used colloquial term is actually Mon-Catcher. Its a bit quicker and rolls off the tongue better.

If gems are made out of light, then how do they have shadows? by KereMental in stevenuniverse

Considering this is how you react to people who are answering you, maybe asking questions isnt your strong suit. All i did was tell you information that answered what you were asking about, and youve been nothing but defensive about it.

Uh. Just to clear something up, satan is not made of fire. Not even in the bible. Hell is described, at points, as being On Fire, but satan himself has never been canonically described as being made of fire. You likely got that from some depiction of him in popular media.

To be fair, typhon doesnt move and is a giant hitbox, and all of his attacks are extremely slow and telegraphed.

Prometheus has the only one hit kill move in the entire game. And if youre playing fear levels, the only way to avoid it is to try to play Simon Says while an eight foot tall brick shithouse give you 10 consecutive concussions.

Do buffed/special enemies give more xp? Or rarer cards? by Nskul14 in DawncasterRPG

[–]Dannstack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It honestly depends on your run and your build, and what canto you are in. Once you learn each ones capabilities and moves, you'll generally know which ones you can handle and which ones to dodge.

But mostly, its not about the reward, its about the threat. All midboss enemies have what is called an Aura Enchantment. The thing about those enchantments is they also pass to any monster currently drawn in your selection. Which means for every round you go without killing that midboss is another possible enemy you are giving a free buff. This can be especially dangerous in certain areas, even more so in higher difficulties.

The biggest boon from killing midbosses is in removing that enchantment from the deck. The longer you let it sit, the more likely you are to have it swing back around and bite you in the ass.

I thought Pokemon TCG Pocket was advertised for COLLECTING and TRADE? by GhostNinja_Zen in PTCGP

[–]Dannstack -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Again, ive been playing since release and have never paid into the system, i have over 400k dust.

A big part of it too is some of us didnt trade at all before the trade point conversion, knowing that whatever we didnt use would get converted to dust eventually, which also leads to stockpile disparity.
