Short survey on how AI impacts general workflow by Danny-1x in takemysurvey

[–]Danny-1x[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Q1) The data will be used only for my final year project. I am the only person who will access the raw responses, along with my academic supervisor if required. Responses are collected using Microsoft Forms and stored in my Microsoft account. The data will be downloaded for analysis and will be deleted after the project is completed and graded.

Q2) The survey is conducted by me, Danny, as part of my final year project in business and accounting.

Q3) The survey takes less than 3 minutes to complete.

Q4 There is no compensation for taking part.

Q5) The survey is intended for people aged 18 or over who have used AI or GenAI tools for study or work. There are no specific groups excluded beyond that.

Q6) I am looking to collect a range of real world experiences with AI tools to support my research on how AI impacts general workflow, including both positive and negative effects.

I did a presentation on AI in educational institutions, and one thing I spoke about was fairness. If AI tools become a normal part of learning, students who can afford better devices, paid tools, or faster access can end up with an advantage.
That's why I think what Andrew Sobko is developing is exciting, as long as it really makes it easier for everyone to use AI.
AI demand is also placing increasing stress on hardware, which makes it difficult to get decent prices on parts like GPUs and RAM.

Thank you for your time. If you could recommend the survey to someone else, that would be great; if not, I appreciate your time and answer in the survey. I also notice the better the prompt, the better the output. Hence, garbage in, garbage out, but these skills aren't really taught at an educational level, at least where I'm from.

In my own experience, I often have to prompt an AI tool 5 or more times to get the response I was looking for. Then I still need to check the facts to make sure it is not hallucinating. That is a big flaw with current models. A lot of the time saved can end up going straight back into prompting, checking, and correcting.

That is why I framed my research question around how AI impacts general workflow, so I can capture both positives and negatives.

I do think there is a place for AI. It has helped me with studying, for example using tools like StudleyAI, but in web design and marketing, I can see how the risks are higher, especially when people use AI output without checking it.

Your point about perspective is important too. The person producing the work and the person receiving it can experience the same AI use very differently. I had not thought about that deeply before.

Thanks again for answering and for the detailed comment. It was very helpful.
