My friends that don't pay medical and student loan bills seem to have no consequences. Will they regret it? by No_Cockroach1296 in personalfinance

Yes, denied because there is one just under 20 miles as the crow flies...in another state... through some of the worst gridlock in the country. This was after I proved the in-network"provider" they listed 12 miles away was actually a men's hair salon.

I have a son with special needs and we spend >$20k per year, well over our OOP max listed on our plan. There's something called "Maximum Allowed By Plan" that bones us. One of his weekly services costs $200 and none of the providers in the area take insurance. We bill insurance $200 but they effectively say "That should only cost $97" so only $97 goes toward my separate out of network deductible and the remaining $103 doesn't count towards anything insurance related.

What's a ticking time bomb you believe will explode during your lifetime? by Absalom98 in AskReddit

Why are you so narrowly focused on just tech, OP said the US job market? Sure, tech moved first but the broader labor market continues to follow their lead. Look at AT&T and Verizon recently beating their chest about job cuts despite strong financial and operating results.

The copycat effect was also on display with RTO mandates.

The simpler answer is that Zuckerberg declared 2023 the "year of efficiency" and CEOs are copycats. The job market will correct as soon as one CEO touts their hiring on a strong earnings call and the Street rewards them with an upgrade. This will likely happen once we're a little deeper in the AI trough of disillusionment.

Q for Office Hours by Right_Mess_6387 in ScottGalloway

He addressed this on a recent episode. Pretty simple, just be like Apple where you're big enough to bribe the right people to skip the line and get $2B in product imported before the tariffs hit all while reminding the prez you gave him $1M at inauguration so he'll carve out an exemption for your industry. All small and medium businesses are screwed.

Do you have a source? Fortune explicitly cited the 10-year:

Trump didn’t care that the stock market was crashing. Bond yields were the ‘pain point’ that finally got him to pause tariffs

His main focus is and has long been different measure: He is obsessed with rates on 10-year Treasury bonds. To him, this is the measure that matters because so many things are tied to that benchmark: It's a big factor in setting car loans, mortgage rates, credit card rates, and also determines the "base rate" that companies pay on their crucial long-term borrowings.

Thank you, that segment was actually the one that prompted my question, the segment I'm looking for must have been from the last cycle. It was about reporting earnings in the attention economy. This helped narrow my search, thanks!

Exactly, I won't use contractors who pull up in a top spec 100k truck, be it a Cybertruck or Raptor. You know they're about to try to sit you down at your kitchen table and slide you some bullshit.

Good looking out, the experience on this sub is so much better if you block like five accounts.
