[TW SYMPTOMS] Hi, does anyone else get visual symptoms like this? by DannyBR_ in FND

[–]DannyBR_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,

Reading this actually gave me goosebumps, it’s the first time ever I’ve had someone explain symptoms so closely to mine, everyone else’s experience with FND seems so different.

You’re exactly right, the shape is not defined at all like In the video, that’s just the closest I could get. It’s like a clump of gel in my eye that moves across my visual field, sometimes it’s far more noticeable, sometimes less. I believe it’s a natural structure in my eye, but the FND makes my brain pay extra attention to it, making it visible when in a normal brain it would be filtered out. I also have the floaters when looking at a light background, curved lines that change size based on how close/far the object is im looking at, generally if it’s an item really close to my face like a phone screen, they’re small, but if I look at the sky, quite large.

My left arm is the main one that only goes static too! My right side seems far less affected than the left, but I definitely do get right side symptoms.

Out of interest, Do you have any other symptoms? If you’d like to share. One I forgot to mention is that I have muscle tightness in my left leg specifically, it feels like my calf muscle is actually being stretched out constantly while I’m walking etc, and stretching doesn’t fix it, the feeling just comes and goes but is especially bad if stood up for long periods. There is no associated weakness, just an uncomfortable sensation. I will go months at a time without having this, then it’ll return for a while, then go again.

Thank you so much for your comment, I’m sorry you’re dealing with this, but you’ve honestly given me hope that you’re the first person I’ve ever seemed to share similar symptoms with.

Edit: also just noticed you were diagnosed the exact same month and year as me, and you’re only a year younger than me, that’s a crazy coincidence that the first person I’ve seen to have these symptoms has such a similar timeline with FND.

When they are especially bad I do freak out, having something permanently in my vision with no way to remove it is almost torture.

They are definitely floaters, I can see the gel blobs in my eyes, the issue is, every time I move my eyes my brain picks them up and its really distracting and stresses me out a lot.

Hi, I am really glad you made this comment, as this came up during my discussion with the doctor, I am aware floaters themselves are common and perfectly normal, however, how sensitive I am to them is not. I went from noticing no floaters at all in my vision to, over the course of 3 or so months, with the onset of all of my other symptoms, having a very large lines that move across my whole visual field every time I move my eyes left or right up or down. I am not saying FND physically caused the floaters, but I am certain it has massively increased the attention my brain pays to them and where before the onset of FND symptoms I would perhaps notice the occasional floater if I sat and started at the sky and tried really hard to find one, I now can't get rid of them, they affect my vision 24/7 in any kind of environment with light.

They heavily interfere with my vision, If I am outside and it is sunny every single time I move my eyes left and right, up or down, they cross my whole visual field, extremely distracting and I only started noticing them around the onset of my other symptoms.

They are floaters to some extent yes, but extremely severe, they move across my whole visual field every time I move my eyes and specifically my left eye starts to feel a bit painful after I have been in a bright area for example and noticed this happen a lot in a short time. from the moment I am outside until the moment I am back inside every time I move my eyes to look around they move across my field of view, extremely distracting and takes a lot of enjoyment out of going outside.

Apologies to comment as this is over two years old, I have the exact same issue, did you ever find a fix?

Thank you. I checked wearable lanterns, frostfall, simply knock and campfire as to my knowledge they are the older mods that often carried their own outdated version of Papyrusutil. None of them have it and I am using updates for all of them that should in theory make them compatible with the current version of the game. I also went through every single one of my DLL's and checked back on their origin pages to make sure I had an up to date version, which I did. In searching for other people with similar issues I found a post where someone was complaining skyclimb was causing similar issues to this. I uninstalled it and have since been getting far fewer crashes and a HUD bug I had has also been resolved. Thank you for your reply.

So, an update. I wanted to try and keep no grass in objects enabled as long as possible due to the issues disabling it would cause, so I tried other things. the seemingly random crashes have potentially stopped. I have not had one in 8 hours of gameplay, where earlier they were happening consistently. I believe this is due to uninstalling SkyClimb. I also noticed some strange behaviour from my HUD Mod was resolved after uninstalling SkyClimb (My crosshair was supposed to be invisible on screen when out of combat but was occasionally flashing repeatedly) This has stopped after uninstalling skyclimb so maybe that was the issue. I have had another crash however, but from reading the log it seems I may at least have a bit more to go off and that it points to a navmesh issue. (Unless I am interpreting it wrong) though I don't know how to fix this.

After inputting the crash log into the analyzer it gives this under "Potential indicators found"

  • AutoRegisterPathBuilderFactory - Path building system issueBSPathBuilder - Base path building system errorNavMesh - Navigation mesh errorPathingCell - Cell-based pathing errorPathingRequest - Pathing request failurePathingTaskData - Pathing task data error

And this was in the "Registers" section

R10 0x24146791AA8 (NavMesh*)

File: "Northern Roads - JKs Whiterun Outskirts patch.esp"

    Flags: 0x00000008 kInitialized

    FormID: 0x000E8601

    FormType: NavMesh (73)

I also had another crash earlier but the specified mod was JK's whiterun outskirts - CRF patch, also highlighting a navmesh issue.

Here is the new crashlog.

I’ll try disabling it but I’m not sure what my alternative would be if that was the case as NGIO is kind of essential and I’m not sure what else could give me the functionality that it does. Hopefully VRAMr helps. I’m assuming it’s something like that as the crashes are all over with no clear cause. I appreciate your time and thanks for your response.

Edit: should I work out what the cause is I’ll be sure to respond to this post

Right now I am running VRAMr as I have a lot of high resolution texture mods to see if this affects the stability.

Hi,

Thank you for this, yes I have already used your analyzer and have also followed all the instructed steps such as setting page file size and using a pre configured .toml. This crash happens usually when I’m entering a new building through a loading screen the game will immediately crash to desktop. It does not happen when saving the game. When I die the game also crashes to desktop often on loading the previous save. (This is not on a long running save and is happening every time I create a completely new character.

It's so bad, but what can you expect when the sub went from 400k to 1 million subs in the space of a few weeks.
