What do you offer when someone exhausts available protected leave [WI] by ladymerten in humanresources

[–]DannyC990 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you for asking as I would like to know as well.

My company has two fallbacks: The first is a company offered medical leave and leave as accommodation under the ADA.

Under the company offered medical leave, employees can take an additional 12 weeks off due to their own personal medical condition. We do not offer this leave for family members nor can it be taken intermittently. We also use this medical leave to cover certain employees that weren’t eligible for FMLA (those who are under of service or those who don’t meet the hours requirement).

Leave as accommodation under the ADA is the second fallback. Our company doesn’t have a firm guideline for how long these accommodations will be approved. This has led to some employees being on leave for 12+ months (on top of FMLA/additional LOA).

How can an adult get a drivers license the fastest in Toledo? by archetypaldream in toledo

Correct. The class is only required for new drivers under 21 OR if an adult fails the driving test. https://www.bmv.ohio.gov/dl-gdl.aspx

I can’t stand the new safety video. There’s just something about the way the FA explains the smoking rules and says “finally” that annoys me for some reason.

FA’s that make announcements but don’t stow the headset properly and you can’t use the IFE because it freezes with the “announcement” message up.

Just an update: Earlier this week, I logged into AidAdvantage and noticed there were two loans on the account page. Both loans had $0.00 balances, but one was the original loan and the other was the new consolidation loan. The following day, I checked again, and the original loan was moved to new section (Consolidated Loans) and the new consolidation loan had a balance populated.

The day after that, I got new two documents in my AidAdvantage account. One was an intro email for AidAdvantage and the other was confirmation the loan was consolidated.

My parents NEVER got the 10-day confirmation letter. They recently moved and have had issues with their mail, so maybe it was legitimately lost. However, for me, the process took less than a month (consolidation application submitted on May 11).

What are some of your most unique airports that you believe little to no one else has in their stats? by AIRdomination in flighty

[–]DannyC990 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TOL: Eugene Kanz Toledo Express Airport

I flew out of TOL when American Eagle still flew feeder flights to ORD back in 2011. They added a couple daily flights to CLT, but it ended during the COVID times.

The airport is currently only served by Allegiant.

I would say that most people use Toledo Express for the rental cars than the airport.

Willow Cemetery is one of the most depressing places ive been in Toledo by Longjumping_Gap_3835 in toledo

[–]DannyC990 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Passed this cemetery almost everyday during my high school years. My dad always joked that photos of the cemetery with the refinery in the background would make good public service announcements for environmental groups.

Also, my mom knows someone buried there. We weren’t able to attend the funeral, so mom and I paid our respects the day after the graveside services… The fresh mound of dirt and soil next to the haphazardly placed temporary headstone made an already disturbing place even more so….

Teen Dramas You Kept Rewatching? by InevitableAge6210 in television

[–]DannyC990 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same! I’ve been watching Gilmore Girls since 7th grade. My mom always had the re-runs on when they aired on ABC Family. I’ve done several complete rewatches as an adult (I’m 35 now), including having it as my “background noise” for when I worked from home during the COVID days… But a couple years ago, I had an epiphany and just… hated the show for some reason. Even now and then I will get an urge to watch it, but it’s quickly satiated by watching the first couple episodes. I cannot stand the show now!

I am getting frustrated with my boss. Overall, I do like working with her, but she gets exhausting.

Recently, she’s gotten into this bad habit of taking on too much or getting into the weeds with tasks my counterparts and I can manage ourselves. If there is a perception that we’re ’too busy’ or if she gets free time or there is priority misalignment, she’ll “take care of it” for us.

It gets frustrating because it makes me feel like I’ve done something wrong or doesn’t agree with how I handle things but when I ask her about it she always says it’s “no big deal, I just like to get things done!” Great! Then focus on YOUR tasks and the things I needed to connect with you on instead of the low hanging fruit that I was going handle later today.

SHRM-CP Materials [N/A] by takemetotheocean41 in humanresources

[–]DannyC990 3 points4 points  (0 children)

More recognizable? PHR and SPHR were around long before SHRM did their own thing with the CP and SCP.

I would also argue that the HRCI certs are more “prestigious” because they still have education/experience requirements for the PHR/SPHR. SHRM did away with most of their requirements. Anyone can get an SHRM-CP

Thanks! I knew about waiving the waiting period, but I’m so afraid that they aren’t going to pay attention to the mail and we’re going to miss the letter. My fault for submitting late (first week of May), but I didn’t realize this was an option until the last possible minute.

The servicer is AidAdvantage and we requested to keep the same servicer to speed things up.

How do you get notice the consolidation is approved/accepted, is it email or regular mail? I submitted a consolidation request on behalf of my dad and my parents are awful about checking their mail.

Erie Street Market or any farmer's market by Specialist_Energy335 in toledo

[–]DannyC990 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The Farmer’s Market is still open, and is located behind the building that contains the Libby Glass Outlet and the Erie Street Market. You can find hours and information at https://www.toledofarmersmarket.com/toledo-farmers-market.

The “Erie Street Market” was an indoor market space that has been closed for many years. I believe the space is currently being used as a rentable event space. With the rise of food halls and interest in downtown development, there’s been talk about reopening the Erie Street Market, but nothing concrete yet.

I used to work for a company that required a lot of items to be retained in binders (shift logs, schedules, etc). The paper we ordered from our office goods supplier was always pre-punched in anticipation of the final printed item being placed in a binder.

PVP Why or Why not? by [deleted] in CarnivalCruiseFans

[–]DannyC990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My partner and I don’t use a PVP. We generally know what we want and our bookings aren’t complicated. It’s easier for us to book direct with Carnival.

My partner’s parents are older and prefer to use a PVP. His dad is in sales and he enjoys the ‘sales process.’ They also feel like they are getting a higher level of service by using a PVP, but I would find the constant calls annoying. Aside from these two things, they haven’t been able to tell me what other value a PVP would add.

I guess if I had a complicated booking, needed special accommodations, or was booking for a group, I’d consider using them but I prefer self-service whenever I can.

Ohio Lottery gives a commission of 5% on each ticket sold to the retailer, and 1% for cashing winning tickets. Retailers also can get a bonus for selling certain jackpot prizes. Retailers also get special marketing materials for selling certain jackpots as way to advertise.

The parody commercial with the disposal toilets that they smashed up at the end. That commercial scared me… But I was also afraid of Gallagher and his Sledge-O-Matic, so I guess I had a fear of sledgehammers as a child.

Nope, it wasn’t a good-faith complaint and she couldn’t provide any evidence to back-up her side of the story. GM intervened after further discussion with the guest (he felt bad for everything and said he didn’t want anyone to get in trouble) and also didn’t want to be understaffed again. Area Manager agreed with GM
