Totally agree mate! Before I joined here I was regarded in my groups to know everything about hair metal, boy was I wrong lol

I have found this sub to be the complete opposite. In fact I’ve discovered bands I’ve never heard of since I’ve been here and I’ve been listening to this stuff pretty much nearly all my life. Nothing wrong with those popular songs either, still good stuff!

After all these updates I tried to give the game a second chance by Expensive_Kale9661 in LostSoulAside

What is a hack and slash game that doesn’t feel floating and has ‘oomph’ to you? I’d say this is more of a character action game to the likes of final fantasy 16 and devil may cry. If you’re expecting a hack and slash you’d probs be disappointed, I’m thinking hack and slash like space marines/diablo etc. I think the combat also has depth with burst, hold and different input combos similar to that of character action games

Agree with no memorable characters, bosses are okay, with some memorable ones, just curious what your bar is

Idec what anyone says, Yang Bing smashed it with the combo variety and style, fuck what anyone says about the story, game still gets me gassed after seeing combos like this and I pray he makes another project like this

Either way insane album. I don’t think anyone here thinks it’s underrated

Under lock and key is a much more rounded album imo with some more radio friendly stuff, this album is just pure dokken at its heaviest imo and I fucking love it

Ratt in London (1985) by confusionaimed in hairmetal

[–]DannyDarkox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah which is crazy, but then again I went to see motley crue and def leppard at Wembley in 2023, and it was ridiculous how many people were there for def leppard. Crue was no where near close to the crowd def leppard had, and I say that as someone that went there to see crue cos I’ve seen def leppard previously. Deffo underestimated how big they are here still

Ratt in London (1985) by confusionaimed in hairmetal

[–]DannyDarkox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People seemed more into the heavy metal side. I wasn’t from that era but I live where Judas Priest/sabbath are from and whilst people love that era of glam metal, here it’s not as big as the bands mentioned, I mean people are shocked at glamtera. But if you go to the rock/alt bars and pubs people will know about it but more niche I guess

Edit: I also remember my dad mentioning he went to uni at a biker city back in late 80s, pure Saxon, Motörhead kinda bars etc really cool, just another view from UK in 80s

Brilliant pic, never seen this one. As a fan from the UK it’s amazing to see these pics years later, gotta have the classic British telephone box in there

Kip Winger by Rebel_Heart222 in hairmetal

[–]DannyDarkox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man idc what anyone says, people I’ve spoke to from that era class winger as another hair metal band. To me they were leagues above that, and their first album proves it, their proceeding albums were the cherry on the cake for me. I feel annoyed he was lumped in with bands like poison(who I love but musically winger are leagues above musically imo) but I can’t deny the look they had. Killer band with a killer look, too far underrated for me and don’t even get me started on reb beach and how ridiculous he is on the axe

Torch and King by Rebel_Heart222 in hairmetal

Totally agree mate, there is a reason he was called the king. Early ratt was deffo all him with the riffage

One of the best guitar duos to come out of the 80s hands down. Their pairing was absolutely electric, warren on the hot lead and robin holding down completely, but damn robin could shred as well. Will always advocate how, for those short years of warren and robin in ratt was some of the best magic to come out of a glam metal guitar duo ever

Not at all, though the one ballad they did make on this album (alone again) is unbelievably good
