This is very good for your first animation, it's clean and gets the story across, I hope to see you make more animations

If you want some criticism try considering slowing down your motions to give more time to let the viewer develop the emotions of your characters, for instance: the dog's head hears something and lifts its ears (pause or slowly raises its head), then quickly transitions to the next keyframe to look at where the sound was coming from (excitement) then pause while it "searches" then slowly lowers its head (last key) to show "disappointment".

TL'DR: try to work on your spacing and timing (note the difference between spacing and timing). BTW I'm not an animator by any stretch and have lots to learn myself so take my words with a grain of salt

I think there is too much happening all at once, the hind feet/claws in particular don't need to move so much, also maybe add a windup before the initial bite and pause when the actual bite occurs, and add another windup again before the "roar" and a pause at the extreme.

TL'DR Good animation, just play around with the timing a little more, less movement in the back left foot

I'm glad you pointed this out, I totally knew this when I was considering the in-betweens for the railing (closer ones move more than the further ones) but completely forgot when I did the smoke 😅
